I very seldom post anymore, anywhere.

The post was an easy going, low key defense of progression systems.

I've always enjoyed that site because of the strategy engine,the
range of postings and the occasional humour.

The posting wasn't offensive in any way. Opposing views add value and variety to any site.

Has anyone had a similar experience at that site? Is there a new policy of super-sensitivity?

It was automatically offensive. Progressions can have a useful purpose if shaping the distribution of wins and losses is important, you can post they make the game more fun or any such other statements that are true. You cannot post that progressions get an edge...although I think Ken's site has a "Voodoo" page which they allow you to post anything you want.

All players use some kind of progression betting.

Counters use a progression based on the count. If a counter bets only
during a plus count, he could even win using a flat bet. If they play all hands, regardless of the count, they win by using a bet-spread that recovers all hands lost during negitive counts and even
positive count losses.

BS non-counting players must use an appropriate progression system that recovers all previously lost hands in order to win.

The distribution of winn and losses determines the outcome, not the mathematics. Mathematics hasn't proved that progressions don't work.

A large bankroll coupled with a large bet-spread is more likely to produce a positive outcome, while a small bankroll is likely to result
in a negative outcome, regardless of whether you're a counter or not.

You have found out that they are nothing but a lot of whiners on the site. If you don't agree with the few chosen ones that post a lot over there you will get banned. They have a voodoo board over there but they still don't let you post your ideas no matter how ridiculous it may be. Bunch of real gems over there.

I am a member of both sites, as many here are. I have learned a great deal from other members at both sites. And I try to contribute and participate at both sites. There are members at both sites that are of tremendous value, as well as members at both sites that it is best just to tune out.

This site has the advantage of having the green chip section, which weeds out much of the goofballs that won't invest the small membership fee in exchange for the great value that it returns. The free page here is more representative of the the newbies and spammers that BJinfo must deal with at a larger level. In a sense the free page here IS the voodoo section afraid to say. Many regular posters won't and don't even click on the free page for that reason.

As I said, I participate over there quite a bit and have benefited quite a bit, but I have never particularly understood the need for a 'voodoo' section. I personally am only interested in the mathematically proven segments of blackjack. We can debate and discuss the merits of different level counts, side counts, RoR, optimal betting, indices, style of play, value of playing rated ect. There can be different views and opinions in some these areas, but progressive betting systems....forget it. I have no use for that and that seems to be all the voodoo section over there is about anymore. The same argument over and over with both the same and different posters claiming the value of long discredited progression systems. I guess sometimes the mods over there just get tired of rehashing �the earth is flat�.

Just as I rarely read the free section because of all the nonsense posted, I never read the Voodoo section across the street, either.

Let me preface my remarks by saying that I don't read the other site, have no dog in this fight, and make no comment whatsoever on the appropriateness of your banning. But just understand that two statements you made are patently false:

There is no such "appropriate progression system." It doesn't exist.

That is in your own words what is wrong over there. If it does not conform to your values and ideas you don't want to hear about it. Lots of knobs there. Just don't go into the voodoo section and you will be fine. Let them debate the hell out of or whatever they want to do. Have you ever heard of freedom of speech. Don't worry about saving someone from going down the wrong path they will just be fine. Trail and error buddy boy !

I thought your banning was 7 days. But no matter. Banning for attacking kewljason sounds VERY reasonable to me. lol I am just kidding. I didn't request or have anything to do with it. I actually disagree with some of the bannings over there, but it's not my site, so they can do what they like.
