Yes! I said it's ILLEGAL!!!
The Supreme Court of NJ ruled that they cannot discriminate against someone who plays a game of skill "Skillfully"!!! But what they will do is claim you did everything in the book to be a disturbance, or swearing, anything but the real reason they want you out! They are REAL cowards when it comes to this issue. I wonder if their mother's ever washed their mouths out with soap when they were young for being LIARS???
Having been playing in AC for well over 15 years, I have never seen any of the joints tell a customer that they would continue the shoe if they lowered their bet??? They just shuffle, period!
If they believe that you're a threat, they will usually cut the shoe to test you for a reaction. Only in positive ID's with large bets do they shuffle!
I don't know what you must have been doing to attract such attention, but for the most part, the floors and bosses at Bally's are pretty good folks. I had been aplaying there for many years, but lately, most joints don't even look at you when spreading, jumping in, etc, unless you're known, or making a nuisance of yourself. Some will say that using the word "Cheating" in a casino, is akin to shouting "Fire" in a theatre! I however feel that if the truth hurts, too damm bad!!
You can make a complaint to the CCC, but their in the pockets of the casino's, and the State isn't about to kill the golden goose and cut the tax revenues they make from the casino's just so we are allowed to play an honest game! Also, by making a complaint, you MUST show ID. Now they know for sure who you are!!
I am also curious as nightowl asked, who were the people involved if you can remember any names, or descriptions? There are a couple of people that act as if you're taking the food out of their kids mouths when playing, but as I said previously, 99% of them are Ok people who are just doing their job.
Be especially aware of a tall thin guy, well dressed, mustache and glasses who will appear if the heat is on and count you down. He, I believe is the count team there! Also, there's a bald headed, black pit boss, about 6' or so tall, who will look the other way everytime if he sees you're toking the dealers! It's worth a few bucks to do this if you're in the same pit with this guy! I guess he may have worked his way up the ladder from a ealer and looks out for the troops. I wonder sometimes if he would ignore you completely if you were to accidentally dropped a $100 bill in his path?
The best advice was given above, if they move on you, just pretent nothing's amiss and keep playing just like the rest of the suckers down there and even make some bad strategy moves. If their counting you down, make a few bigger than normal minimum bets in a negative situation and that should convince them to give you dinner.
With the amount of losers I have seen all these years, it's a wonder they worry about indivdual counters at all. I can maybe see their concern about a team, but I can count on one hand all the players I know that can win over the long haul, and believe me, I've known hundreds!!! It's amazing though, that they have a license to steal, yet they still feel they have to cheat on top of it? I know the CCC says their allowed to use so called "Countermeasures" against skilled players, but most would consider it cheating. Try doing something like that in a private game and you would find out real quick that it's cheating!!
If you offer a game that can be beaten, you have to expect, and allow, that some will be able to beat it!
In past days, they were EXTREMELY paranoid about anyone they even suspected of being a counter, but anymore, they just seem to watch only for those they know positively. If you really have made an impression, just stay out for a few months, and when you do go back, try to be as inconspicuos as possible. If you think they recognize you, leave and try again in a few months.
The one problem I see is you think that Bally's is the only place you can win! Forget that and go somewhere else. All the games are the same except maybe the cuts are better here and there, but otherwise, standard deviation doesn't care where you are playing!
One thing I can add, it's lucky you were in AC and NOT Vegas! In AC, they can only kick you out for 24 hours and then you are allowed to return, In VEGAS, they tap you out and you better not return, ever. If they try to arrest you when you return to Bally's AC, don't fight, argue or resist, just let them press charges and you will have their A$$. If that does happen, be sure to get an attorney, especially one who deals with card counter issues, and be sure to let us know!
Sorry this was a little long, but I could go on forever on this subject!! Maybe it's time for a book? How about "Lie Cheat and Steal". How the Casino's rape you!
