Balckjack cheating in Foxwood and Mohegan Sun?

I used to win in Foxwood and Mohegan Sun according to count theory, but I have been losing since the beginning of last year, I am suspicious that they started cheating or...?? Any fellow players who play there regualarly? Any expeeience to share?

It's easy to blame your losses on cheating, but most likely it's due to variance (or your bad play).

Playing at several Las Vegas and Laughlin casinos, I lost money for 3 years. The last year of those 3 years, I lost on 10 consecutive trips.

I have been playing at foxwoods for a little while and still am. My bankroll has gone up and down but that is due to variance not cheating. I would assume your results are due to variance. I have tried to play at mohegan sun but the pen. there is awfull so I gave that up a while ago. Dont feel bad though when I first started I came out on a loss and I also thought it was due to cheating. It was not till I started asking questions on here that I realized how frustrating a ride bj can be. Best of luck to you in the future.

There is definitely cheating at Foxwoods. Now I know the reason MGM Mirage was so anxious to be involved with the cheating, heathen Mashantucket Pequot Tribe in developing new casinos. It wanted to see test the Nevada Gaming Commission and State Gaming Control Board to see how far it can go without placing its Nevada gaming licenses at risk. Who needs gaming in Las Vegas anyway?

There are actually two casinos where I know with 99+% certainty there's cheating, and others where I have good reason to be suspicious. But I don't name names, because then there'd be a potential libel suit, and proof switches to the defendant (i.e. me and conceivably the owner of this board) when truth is the defense.

Advantage players should be naturally suspicious and untrusting. Trust your instincts, but realize that variance can be a killer. Most of the time it's plain old bad luck -- but trust your instincts anyway.

As long as you state your opinions *as opinions* you have nothing to worry about. If you suspect a casino of cheating, you can quite freely say so, without any worry at all over libel.

... with special expertise in libel/slander law ... I'd be veeeeery careful with that theory. If you name names, then there's a strong chance they'll claim malice, and then you're in a whole new ball game.

There are people who have video tape of dealer cheating, and you'll never hear names on the incident on a bulletin board. Lawyers say the TAPES are illegal, because the casino has a rule that says so. Whadda country.

Cheaters love headstrong gamblers. It seems that hardheads are the best losers because they don't think they're cheated. They think that bad hands of cards are just bad luck/variance. Commonsense and wisdom are the best defenses against cheaters. For example, Dealer Jane Doe has been too lucky consistently over years. I've watched her like a hawk, but I can not tell if she cheats or not. However, recently a retired Doctor sez she cheats. The Doctor sez she "stacks" aces as she collects cards from the felt. Following the Doctor's tip, I paid extra attention at her whenever aces are dropped on the felt. Holy mackerel! The Doctor is right! Jane Doe stacks aces. The Doctor explained that stacking aces together would decrease a player's chance to receive a pair of aces. Well, that's only one unkosher thing the dealer has been doing. God only knows what else she has been playing tricks with cards against gamblers.

I can see tapes as being illegal, depending on the state, and whether they are surreptitiously acquired. But there's no law against stating an opinion, ever. I do know a lawyer I can ask, though.

I just hate seeing people scared of reporting reasonable suspicion. That hurts everyone.

Whether or not there's any merit to a case, you can be named in a lawsuit. Then, you have to hire a lawyer to defend you.

This once happened to me. I was an "innocent bystander" in a Usenet newsgroup discussion where a bunch of people were badmouthing an individual and his company (all true, btw.) The idiot lawyer representing him didn't know the difference between someone posting a comment vs. someone quoting a comment in a response and named about 50 people in the lawsuit.

Fortunately for me, my personal liability umbrella policy covered the legal expenses and I was dropped from the quit pretty quickly. However, most people wrongly named in the suit paid up to $2000 in legal fees before they were dropped.

So you may be right in your statement of the truth, but that doesn't keep someone with deep pockets from flexing their financial muscle in order to make your life miserable.

I was at Foxwoods high roller room one night counting away, and wouldn't you know it, this one 6d table just counted down all night, to -20 to -30 every time. Certainly it was rarely ever positive, and if so only slightly. On top of that, people were winning like crazy and after a while there was a mob of Vietnamese fighting each other to back bet three deep (other tables were pretty full but not back betting). After some time I became suspicious that this shoe was somehow stacked in the player's favor (!). At first I kept counting and simply assigned the shoe a +10 running count to start with, but I eventually got so tired that I pretty much just flat bet $200 on each of two spots I shared with another guy (with others back betting us 3 deep). $7000 later when I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer, I cashed in.

One of two things happened here: a) it was a 3+SD night and I got really lucky, or b) someone inside stacked the shoe for the players and put the word out.

That's a reality of life, unfortunately. But there is recourse against these kinds of bullying lawsuits.

But really, the risk is extremely low, and it saddens me to see people too scared of this BS to state an opinion. I've personally clearly stated suspicions I've had, and would proudly do it again.

Making extra bucks are not worth to become a lawbreaker, innocently or not. More and more dealers become degenerate gamblers, and uncontrollably they conspire with players to steal from their employers-casinos. Don't get netted along innocently during the arrest.
