"Backed off"

What is the best response to when a pit boss approaches you, asks you to step aside and you are sure that you are being imminently backed off? Would you head for the door, refuse to step away from the table and make a scene for everybody etc. Obviously, they want to talk to you privately so that if you tell the other casino patrons that they casino management barred/backed you off it could be bad for the casinos publicity. It would be a case of your word against theirs and they could claim plausible deniability. This scenario would be very hypothetical. Chances are if you were backed off, and you told someone they would believe you anyway, but there still is the question whether barring is legal(outside Nevada). Remember that businesses must abide by certain codes of conduct to keep their liscense. I am interested in opinions on how to react to this.

The problem is in the state rule that allows them to advertise that
they are casinos & hotels, but throw you out if you are a big winner
in "THEIR PRIVATE CLUB". This is long overdue for a bait & switch trip to the supreme court.

When you think the PB is coming to back you off, just go with the flow. Ignoring him or arguing isn't going to help anything. Being belligerent will just get security involved, and you definitely don't want that. Most backoffs are polite. Try to keep them that way.

Bolting when you see the PB coming won't help either. It won't make you any less unwelcome the next time you play. Any information they have about you, they already have, so you're not hiding anything by running. Moreover, you may be wrong in assuming the worst. Several times I've felt that surge of anxiety as a PB or floor manager has come around the table and addressed me by name, only to introduce himself and offer comps or to thank me for a kind letter I'd written to his boss after he treated me well on a previous visit.

The only reason to be backed off from a casino is that you stayed and played too damned long. Guerilla tactics always work best. Get in an then get the hell out!

Extremely naive statement. Don't be absurd. Csasinos are NEVER going to lose their license just because they backed off or 86'd someone.

Even if they rough you up and backroom you, Nevada casinos don't lose their license. Instead it becomes a civil suit by players such as Grosjean trying to get recompense for the way they were/are treated.

If good players were left alone, they wouldn't be here and other sites passing on good information. Look how many hits this site has on a daily basis. I personally have learnt things that would never have occured to me. Good players passing on trade secrets and forming teams and training numerous other players is forced onto expert players by the casinos. So, a big thankyou to casinos for making all this great information available to us up and coming players.

North Wind if you were the owner of a casino and there were people playing blackjack who could get the advantage over you, what would you do?

There would still be books written on the subject of beating blackjack and their would still be a ton of info available via the net.

As long as it's done in a professional manner, there's nothing wrong with it. The fact that sometimes the casinos back off lucky ploppies is amusing, but it's their business to run (or run into the ground) as they see fit.

North Wind, when does your casino open? I'm expecting single deck, played to the bottom, 1 to 100 unit bet spreads, and I can play until I need a forklift to carry my money out.

but it would be coming from losers not winners. Ones who haven't put all the pieces together. Good players would rather play than post. I hope the casinos see things your way and the info keeps coming.

do understand one thing when you have a web page as free from censorship as this page is there is also a downside the person responsible for the posts must let information through that he knows is incorrect.Its the cost of free expression. There are people that post that say things that experienced players know is a total fabrication. When you read something compare it to work done by very experienced counters and writers. Counting and getting money from a casino is never easy and takes dedication and an understanding that sometimes you will have losing sessions. Someone that tells you they have been playing for years and never have a losing session are liars. When I criticize a liar or exaggerator is is mainly for the benefit of new people. A key to look at what the person is saying critically then if they decide to believe them. Well I guess they can pay the casino gullible tax.
