I dunno whats up with downtown Vegas. I posted a couple months ago at getting limit betted at El Cortez despite a meager $5-40 spread, drinking, and generally a less than competent counter.
My friend is much better at it than I am, but has all but given up normal BJ for super fun 21. I don't really know if the game can be counted for +ev, but maybe it is since he spreads $5-100 and makes very aggressive double down moves and stuff. He is winning a lot over the last few years at it and doesn't care at all about variance(and the BR is constantly replenishable).
So we are at Plaza last weekend....one of the few remaining countable $5 DD games in Vegas. So that is what I play. He is at the Super Fun 21 table. He hits a high count and lays three consecutive bets of $70, 60, and 50. And boom. PB comes up with "sir, you can play any game here you like except BJ".
Hehe and LOL to this one I guess. Whats so odd, is that both of us have been playing like this for as long as I can remember without even a hint of heat. I couldn't care less...its better by far if I avoid the tables and stick to mid limits at the Bellagio poker room. But at super fun 21?
