Back-Rooming Is Nothing Compared To This One

Which of our favorite casinos can do any of the following and most likely not have to be accountable for their actions?

1 Rape their female employees.
2 Poison their patrons at the buffet.
3 Sexual harassment.
4 Pilfer through an old lady�s purse.
5 Physically assault anyone they don�t like.
6 Smash a patron�s car.
7 Fire an employee because she won�t put out.
8 Run a sideline prostitution business.
9 Force a patron to leave the premises because they don�t like their race, religion or skin color.
10 Have surveillance cameras in their restrooms.
11 Allow patrons to free-fall to their death in an elevator accident resulting from poor maintenance.
12 Back-room somebody, take their $ and then give them a little torture treatment.
13 + all the other usual stuff too.

Ah, so you think this is a joke. It may be pushed to the extremes but not necessarily. I think some of you know this one. ��� But maybe not. Any guesses? If you do know it though, maybe give the others a little more time to fry their brain first before posting the answer. Thanks

Maybe nobody knows the answer to my original post. Goes to show how naieve the entire world is. But it's not anybody's fault except our own federal government for allowing it to happen.

Last time I checked, Native Americans weren't allowed to murder, torture, or otherwise assault their patrons. In RI, the gov't doesn't even let them sell cigarettes tax free.

Not letting them sell cigarettes may be a facade. + It�s what the government wants. Maybe????? Some are not allowed to sell alcohol.

There�s more to this one than what�s on the surface.

What about what the public wants and their civil rights. Oooops, what civil rights? Keep thinking my friends. This one is deep.

I guess everyone is too puzzled by this subject regarding issues, rights, legalities, and how to respond if we are violated in Indian territory. As I said, I don't have all the answers on this one. Actually, I don't have much at all if anything happens while at an Indian Casino. I think we're pretty much toast, regardless of whatever happens. It's like walking into the movie, "West World" with Yule Brenner, where the law is whatever suits him. The public and the voters don't even have a clue about what patrons potentially subject themselves to upon entering a Sovereign Indian Nation within the U S. Maybe nobody but me really even cares to analyze this stuff. What about back-rooming. We may a well just say, "Here take all of my money, my legal rights are whatever you want them to be".

So who is a violated person gonna call if they are violated, Ghost Busters? (semi rhetorical question) Any misconduct and otherwise typical unlawful actions can also come from staff violating staff. Wow! Just think of all the sexual favors the executive staff can demand without having to be accountable. Amazing how we never hear about any sexual harassment cases. I just hear whispers of crazy sh!t taking place and some people having to leave their jobs.

Just think about it. When a problem occurs, does the violated person call their attorney? Maybe, but the att just says, "Nothing can be done because of Sovereign Immunity". How about, can the person call the Police? No, the Police have no jurisdiction on Sovereign land. Well, there's always the Tribal Police who are paid by the casino.??? Oh, that sounds like a winner! How about your congressman? Nope, won't get a response.

All I can say is: May God be with all who enter Sovereign Indian Territory 'cause there ain't nothin' else that's gonna save ya if your visit goes sideways.

Just my way of tryin' to enlighten the naive. We can all thank our Federal Government for allowing the potential for such lawlessness.

You should be aware that in many of the Indian casino corporations the tribes are minority partners in the corporation. The investors who funded the casinos own controlling interest in the casinos and the majority of the profits do not benefit those tribes.

Therefore, the Federal and State governments should be able to redress wrongs, since the corporations are outside agencies operating on the 'tribal lands' and the States retained the right to revoke casino privleges - i.e. - the casinos do not have carte blanche to operate. Also, every state with tribal casinos has a group of casino opponents who would love to attack the casinos through the State and Federal courts and you could use them to support/fund your legal attacks on offending casinos.

A few years back in Tampa, the Seminole Tribe was actually CAUGHT cheating at their Bingo games. (Had plants win the big jackpots) Had a newspaper article about it and that was it...they are STILL playing big $$ Bingo in Tampa (or so they say)(I don't think ANYONE went to jail, they just replaced the Bingo manager)

There was also a time that a Canadian woman supposedly won $90K game of where you write in 8 numbers and if those 8 come in within a certain number of calls, you win. Well, they disallowed her win because they said that she had wrote OVER the zero, thus, making her ineligible. The newspaper actually showed her card and all she did was lightly go over one side and you had to look real hard to even notice it. There was NO WAY she altered her ticket because there was no other number she could have made hers into by tracing...she took them to court and LOST!

Best not to tread onto a reservation if it can be avoided. I don't trust them.

Radar, are you sure they actually heared the case in a court. They would have either had to go to the tribes' tribal court or they went to one of our courts (federal?) only if and after the tribe waved its right of sovereign immunity. A non waiver of sovereign immunity would be the same as us having the power to say: "I have decided that I don't want to be challenged on the issue, therefore I shall not except your lawsuit and I will continue to do as I please."
