An alternative view of Michael Barnett
Don seems to think that you are posting on behalf of the notorious casino operative Michael Barnett. I have to belief that Mr. Barnett knows the answer to simple questions like this. I mean, he must have something on the ball if casinos are paying him so much money to help them with "protection" of BJ-games.
My view of Michael Barnett is that he is a serial fantasist not really much threat to anybody. He seems to know quite a bit about advantage play and I was happy to talk to him because he gained very little knowledge about me and I gained some useful information from him. He seems to delight in hacking sites with very limited security-to use the colloquial, true hackers call this "laming" and it is generally the subject of derision amongst that community.
He set up a "honeynet" site devoted to advantage play computers supposedly being sold to casino surveillance, making it very easy to hack. Honeynets are sites generally set up by computer security experts to lure hackers so the security experts can monitor them remotely. Only Michael started to get a little desperate when no one attempted to hack the site and began giving out the password via e-mail. I was happy to look at the intriguing candy store he set up of non-existent expensive computer hardware, and Michael is quite welcome to know my ISP (it has changed twice in the last two months) and any other useless data net monitoring may have given him.
I seriously question the value of this information to casino surveillance. It is just surreal to imagine Michael ringing up the Cornwall Grosvenor and selling them data about my ISP.
The only way to obtain useful information of value to casino surveillance, in my opinion, is to physically track a very limited number of high-rolling advantage players. I don't recall an instance of Barnett attempting to make actual contact with a team and so I don't consider him much of a threat for that reason. Obviously, everyone should be extremely wary about meeting a prospective team-mate online, particulary if the prospect gives the impression of cultivating you for something.
This does go on, but the threat comes mainly from Griffin and Eurowatch, rather than private individuals or small-time operations.
