Dealers are very slow. Comps are very very skimpy.

Food is expensive. Service is rude and slow.

If you can make sure that they will comp you "up front" you may go and take a shot a them. Paradise Island is always a pleasure to visit and honostly, if you can get the room and food comped for say a $50 or $75 average bet, go for it ! Be careful on the night shift... Also, on saturday night, Aura is worth the visit ;-)

I met a non-AP in AC, betting black, who told a story about being asked to leave by security, and placed in a cab. The cabbie drove to some deserted area and tried to rob him. The whole thing was a setup from the start.

1- If not an AP, why was he asked to leave ?
2- Why would the casino tolerate their security getting rid of a ploppy playing black ? (this is the type of customers they are looking for)
3- What forced him to take this particular cab ? The gards ?

And finally, I have witness players being backed off at Atlantis playing much more than a black or two and it was done with the usual class. Keeping the RFB for the weekend and money transfered back to bank account,etc.

I am not saying this man lied to you but it is very unusual unless he had prior hitory with them or did something special....

Because the "house edge" over a ploppy is much higher, when you take his bundle of bucks outside the casino in a deserted place within seconds.

It might be the only "available" cab on the property, he had to leave

They said they were suspicious that his money was counterfeit, but they would give him the benefit of the doubt if he were willing to leave and not come back into the casino. The security guard escorted him out and placed him in the cab, apparently all set up in advance.

Atlantis could rob EVERY CUSTOMER because anyone playing there has some sort of important cash. I am 99% positive that Atlantis won't steal money from a customer in this fashion.

What they do not tell you is that the rooms carry taxesx and fees of all kinds, including surcharges for electricity and for having the maids make up the room.

The comped room turned out to be pretty costly.

I was backed off rather quickly betting green only.

After they backed me off, when I was ready to depart, I requested a check for my chips.
They refused.
I asked them to cut me a check equal to the amount of my buy-in - as I used only travellers checks.
They still refused.
This forced me to catch a plane with enough cash to get it confiscated.
I half-expected to be robbed before getting to the airport.

Also, the food comps were limited.
Service was very poor.

The only flag to surveillance was that I had been playing several hours and winning.
I used appropriate cover - betting more than the minimum off the top and never making plays like splitting tens or doubling soft 20.

My spread was approximately $25 to $250, rather conservative I say.

The casino shift manager approached me and said (verbatim) "Our surveillance department has determined that you are an advantage player. You may not play blackjack here any longer."

Apparently you are imagining that you are FULLY comp'd.

When you check out your credit card will be hit with a lengthy list of absurd fees; that when summed will look like you have paid for the room.

Remember to bring a light bulb or two.

You are charged extra for electricity, but you are given precious little.

Forewarned is forearmed.

Room taxes at Atlantis were $118.32 for 3 nights. I never paid anything else. I guess it depends on your level of action.

I'm a bit surprised to hear the reports of substantial heat there - I never perceived any back in 2006-07 when I was last there.

Keep in mind that the pen is mediocre at best, although it does vary by dealer. Due to the generally poor pen, the game is really only playable if you can spread very aggressively.

I am also surprised to hear that people are getting free rooms with average bet of $25. Last time I played there, my impression was you needed an average bet of $200 to get room & food comped. It could be a function of the down economy that green chipppers are now getting serious comps there.
