Most of the advantage players I know are strictly business when it comes to AC. We have an opportunity to make money, we drive in, hit the place(s), maybe stay a night or two, and then we head out. As you may have noticed, there isn't as much "recreation" available to you as Las Vegas would provide to you. I honestly think the casino want it that way - they want to keep you in the casino as long as possible. I don't blame them. People keep showing up even though there aren't any volcanos, pirate battles, or hip places to hang out. I don't have many AC stories because the only reason I'm driven to go there is greed - I want to make money. Usually, I'm giving up a weekend with a friend or two or doing something else.
Las Vegas on the other hand, can provide for hours of "recreational" entertainment...

from a three day trip to AC. Unlike most posters on this board, I'm not a "serious" card counter, and rely on a positive progressive betting system to make money at this game, so the eight deck shoes and poor pen don't hurt me a much as they hurt counters.
Several observations:
1. I waited 45 minutes for a cab at the AC airport, and I was one of four people off a full DC9 who didn't have a car or a rental car.
2. Although I received full RFB because of the level of my blackjack play, I wasn't impressed with the gourmet menu, the suite, or the service, all of which were poor by Vegas standards.
3. Playing conditions were lousy, especially at the low limit tables: 8 deck, usually about 60% pen(which varied depending on who was playing), no surrender, no re-splits. VIP pit allowed re-splits.
4. Two dealers told me I was foolish to hit 12 against a 3, or to hit soft 18 against a face.
If not for meeting with friends or business associates, I never go to AC.
Final note: I walked out on the boardwalk for a breath of fresh air, and a bird pooped on my head -- about the same attitude displayed by the pit bosses when I hit a long winning streak and won back my previous losses!
It's safe to walk two blocks back of the Boardwalk to Atlantic Ave. to go to Little Saigon (near the Trop) or White House Subs (near Trump Plaza).
People have been pistol-whipped and robbed on the walkway between Trump Marina and Harrah's, even at high noon.
There have been weird robberies of players even inside the casinos--players followed back to their rooms and then pushed inside and robbed when they unlocked their doors, or robbed on those interior walkways between sister properties.

You're a hoot Walt. Do you keep records? If so, share with us how much money you've made with your "positive progessive betting system". But I'm betting that 1.) you don't keep records and 2.) you don't make money in the long term.
For new players, take Walter's statements with a grain of salt. You cannont win long term by using just a "positive progressive betting system".

We need to find someway to co-exist on this page. The counters vs. the progressionists. Nothing wrong with EITHER method, if it suits a person's goals and amount of time they care to spend. AND... if they understand the TRUTH of the story.
Who can argue with that?
And if you won't post your results, then make no further claims of being a winning player.

You're just avoiding the issue. This isn't about card counters, it is about your claims of being a winning player. You made that statement in your post above, now prove it. But you can't!
It has been proven that card counting gives players a long term advantage. This is done with the math, simulations and actual results.
Progression players cannot prove by using math or simulations that their systems work, so actual long term results are the only way to offers some type of evidence (but winnings alone are not proof of a winning system).
But, I doubt very much that you are a long-term winner, yet you claim to be. And you offer no proof. You're just another windbag trying to sell a worthless book. You should have been banned from this site a long time ago.
If I were to post something like, "I started with a $3,000 bank four years ago, have logged over 120,000 hands of play, had a high of $51,000 at one time (after a $21,000 win in Vegas), spent much of the profits on home improvements, a new car, and several vacations, had a losing streak that wiped out $18,000 of my bank, and currently have a bank of $14,000." what would this prove? Absolutely nothing.
This isn't about being a winner. It's about my theories regarding a specific progressive betting system.
OK, here's your chance to brag. Since you don't use your real name, why don't you post your total winnings for the last four years?
And personally, I think a person would have to be an idiot to make a post like yours... just my opinion.
