Asian dealers who think they are Confucious

For the umpteenth timee, two nights ago I had another in a long line of nonsense advice from asain dealers who should just deal and shit up and leave me alone. He couldnt get used to the idea that Sometimes I was hitting 12 vs.2, staying with 16 vs. 10, splitting 9's, doubling vs. 10, etc. He says: "This first time playing this game.....or you play many years?"

I said, "Im here to gamble and have some fun" Which probably seemed odd to him, because i never smiled the whole time he was dealing because it was all I could do to keep up counting AOII against him while I waited for the really slow dealer who went on break. I bet 100 one hand and he yelled out "One hundred!" Like I just plopped down 5 dimes. Then he tells the old lady in front of him, "I have 10. Always hit when dealer has 10"

Why cant dealers just shut up sometimes?

of it is the ignorant fool is probably trying to help! I was successful in shutting someone up by telling them that if they were really that good, they would not be dealing for a living, and would be playing at one of those $100 minimum tables!

I don't mean to start here's my annoying dealer story, but in AC a few weeks ago i came across a particularly annoying (non-asian) dealer. I had just started playing and was on a pretty good winning streak, when i was dealt 7,7 vs. 5. I split, ended up w/ two 17's. The dude looks at me while finishing the table and goes, bad play son...you should only split 7's vs. a dealers 10. I simply asked..oh really? He started rambling on about how the dealer would most likely have 20, and if i don't split my 7's i'll probably bust on my next card. All I could say was i'll keep that in mind. Of course, he proceeded to bust his hand and i won my money. It's amazing how a bj dealer could not know basic strategy, and then try to "help" players with their logic!

a dealer told me that i should split 2's and 3's all the time, and that was the bottom line. He said any fool can see that there is alot of cards that will help you, and that he does it all the time when he plays. This same fool criticized me everytime i went back and forth from one hand to two saying it is the stupidest thing anyone can do messing the order of the cards like that. You got to love blackjack, u never know what is gonna happen next while out playing. I think this is the main reason i keep playing this game...nah...maybe the second reason!!! Later!!

I found that some of the nicest places to play BJ have a policy where the dealer is not allowed to give unsolicited playing advice. I found this to be the case at some of the former Wynn properties in LV. The normal dealer response to someone asking for advice is, "You can play it however you want, but..." I like that policy and I'd imagine that the dealers like it too - you can't blame the dealer for bad advice.
