Seems like with a large bank, you could clean up some money. I know they take 1.5%, but granted most overbet, or give away a good % by making inefficent plays, shouldn't you have an advantage?

Would be for a large volume of counters to just start their own internet casino. In an age where all blackjack games are going to the crapper, a group of APs can introduce some real blackjack games that have real good rules which would translate into a very low house edge. Methinks, the player mistakes alone could increase the edge a significant degree. Not to mention, better rules than any land-based or Nevada based casino may attract a large following. Of course, we can't forget about the stupid people so we would have to have a parlor for 6-5 SD. After all, we are always on the lookout for advantage play situations. Considering there is no shortage of stupid people this could be the best advantage play out there.

The only real US legislation concerning internet gambling comes from the wire act. And that is very specific that it only applies to people taking bets on sporting events over phone lines. To my knowledge here have been no court cases on whether or not casino games fall under the jurisdication of the wire act. But every American who lives in America who owns an online casino doesn't use his real name in those business dealings. So if there were a court case putting someone on trial for owning an internet sportsbook operated in Antigua or somewhere, I would not bet on the operator winning. The US would probably come up with some kind of racketeering charge.

I meant that it would be immoral to own a casino period. You may not hold this viewpoint. Or would you like to buy into your local casino as a part owner? I'm sure they could use you as a security consultant. :) If you considered it moral and/or legal to own an internet casino, then I wouldn't have any problem with their proposal.

It's not cheap to start a casino. However you did say a large number of counters would start it.

With favorable rules and conditions, fellow hustlers and counters would hit you for all you're worth. You'd have to start restricting them or banning them. It wouldn't be like reality where most ploppies don't have any idea. Most of theses BJers would play nice BS (give away very little, except for the ones who overbet). If you hope to use finite decks, and decent penetration, you will be targeted by counters. I know I'd hit you up.

If you want to profit, you need shuffling after every round, and small bonuses. If your aim is to produce a reputable casino, with a (roughly) fair game, thats fine.

That said, if I could be the house I would. Unless your managing skills are pathetic, you should profit quite nicely. It'd be nice for casinos to just tell you cool it a bit, and not get too greedy (and tolerate you), instead of being in competition with you and banishing you.

A US court could rule on this? Say a US citizen sets up a casino in Australia or Britain, where it is legal, the US court is going to prosecute? Surely its none of their business?
Note also that the MGM has an online casino, it just doesn't allow US bettors. I can't see them being prosecuted for that any time in the near future.

Overbetting will just cause you problems with fluctuation. It doesn't increase your advantage.

Not that great. You have to selectively screen out good players and cultivate poor players to get an edge as the best poker players do. You also need to understand loss of control of your bet size is a big problem. Finally, and this is the biggest problem, everyone wants to deal these games and no one wants to play. The bonus system encourages this. When BTD and its copycats wakes up to this and starts offering player-only bonuses maybe this concept will become viable-though the lesson from California where banking games dominate proceedings is that large syndicates tend to form and squash competition.
Note that blackjack isn't that good a game to deal because the difference between an average player and a good player isn't that great, only a couple of % or so. Baccarat is probably better-try and deal to tie bettors who get shafted by that 14%+ edge whilst earning points with the comparatively minor 1% edge on bank.

This is an intellectully interesting development in online gambling, but unfortunately the popular notion that you can win as the casino is so commonplace its actually self-defeating.

From any house's perspective, counters running it or otherwise, a positive player edge translates into a negative house edge. Most counters seek to play with an advantage and are not about to give that up. I think the same mentality would follow if running a casino, don't give up the edge (to a CC). In this sense, I would suggest making it unplayable to the counter. Constant reshuffling, burn more cards on a fresh shuffle, you could even have the software programmed to do preferential shuffling. E.g., shuffle if the player spread goes above 4 units. I suppose you could even have the software designed to shuffle if the RC gets too high. Everyone probably thinks this is traitorous but then again we can understand why the house despises counters.

For the players though I would think SD games would be a good offering since so many ploppies are willing to accept a 6:5 natural just to play the game.

It's against the law to dodge the draft, but people have their own set of values, and make their own choices to live with themselves. Some people love the thought of going to war to defend their country. Some actually enjoy war simply because it gives them a legal chance to kill someone they don't like or understand.

I think I have more of a handle on things than you could imagine. And you are right about 'them' taking all the risk. The people you refer could lose or win money. They take all the risk. You don't care if they get paid or not. You will still split the referral check. After all, in your post further down the page you see nothing wrong with stealing from casinos. Can stealing from your clients be further behind?

There is an incredible difference between avoiding the draft and owning an online casino. If you can't tell the difference between the two, you are truly a morally bankrupt person.

Licence fees, knowing that people on welfare are losing their kids lunch money, there are too many downsides to it. You can't blame me for touting the biggest advantage anyone can get. It's similar to people touting their fave single deck game with good rules and penetration, only many times better.
