An $8.00 can of beer?

A friend of mine recently spent a few days in LV, staying at the Palms. The plane fair and room rates were reasonable. When she and her husband got to the pool they were basically placed at the shady end of the pool-the sunny area was not available to the guests. A Margerita cost $14.00, a can of beer was $8.00 and a bottle of water was also $8.00. She lost her Coppertone so had to get another-$20.00!
She said when they arrived at the pool her bags were inspected to make sure they weren't trying to bring in water or alcohol.
Question: Do you think the management expects people to return to their place of business when treated like this? Benny Binion must be spinning in his grave! Maybe too many manager types armed with MBA's and not a bit of common sense?

Hard Rock, Palms, and many other places, especially on the weekends, the Pool is now a profit center, not a place to quietly lay out or take a short splash.

The Pool = A Nightclub

Wait until you go to the pool and you find that instead of a nice quite day sipping frozen drinks while laying out you're in the middle of a rap concert by 50 Cent or P-Diddy. Ugh!

I have had reason to visit the palms almost daily for the last 6 weeks and it has been a little crazier than usual with many spring break events sponsored by MTV and hosted by cast members of jersey shore and such. On most days you would see dozens of movie/television/lighting trucks lined up in the driveway. I suspect this is the craziness she ran into. I suspect they are a little stricter with the security situation because they make so much money on the alcohol end from this crowd. It's probably best not to schedule your trips to such a host location of such events if you don't want to deal with this craziness. This was pretty well publicized, at least locally with a number of billboards around town.

Hey kewl! Good to hear from you-are you still hitting the tables pretty good? Anyway-it seems to me the management is very short sighted. They shouldn't expect these people to return,and when they tell everyone they know how it is those people won't check in either! Like I said Benny Binion is spinning in his grave! Where is Gorgon? He would say you're wasting your time and money. I say jam on the tables and get it all comped.
