I am still a relative newbie although I can quickly keep a HiLo count.
Question for those of you who have seen many more shoes than I have.....is there a certain signature that you are looking for? What I mean is, a few nights ago I was playing a shoe which seemed to be relatively clumped. There were several areas where 90% of the cards in a 15 card run were 2-6s. Anyway, the count seemed to rise and fall pretty precipitously, so there were usually a few opportunities in a shoe to get some big bets out. That night (perhaps coincidentally) I turned $100 into $700 at a $10 table in a few hours.
The next day, I was playing at a table where the shoe seemed much more "even". The RUNNING count never seemed to get above or below +5 to -5. It seemed like I was just treading water. I ended up losing $50 of $100 over 2 hours.
Question: Is that something you experts look for, or do you find that shuffles can change that up enough that if the last 3 shoes were flat, you have hope that the next shoe will not be flat? Or, if I find a "flat shoe" after 4 or 5 rounds should I switch tables?
I am not backcounting, but am sitting out hands or going to the bathroom when the TC goes below -2. I am spreading 1 to 10.
