Advantage Play Games

Friends,
After perusing the Friday edition of USA Today, I glanced through the classifieds to see who has the need for a classified ad on the national stage. I mean, really, who spends $50 on a dresser set in a different state. Interestingly enough, I came across two "BEAT THE CASINOS" type ads. The first one didn't leave a website, only a 702 area code phone number, but the second ad listed their game of choice as roulette. After reading the website, www.paragonroulette.com, I began to wonder what $197 can buy me. Is someone really just selling a martingale system or delayed martingale? I've never made the plunge in buying one of these things, but I'm very curious about roulette systems. In reality, this is where the "Blackjack as a Business" system started so I'm willing to listen. I'd appreciate any input anyone has on these things or a real book that I can buy with similar strategies.

Suppose someone does have a method for beating roulette that can earn them 11K per month playing �part-time�. By playing more and recruiting a team, you could make a Million a year.

Now if you hold classes in it, for $197, the cat is going ot be out of the bag. Your going to kill your own game.

Would you kill a game that could make you that kind of money by holding classes for $197 ?

PS: It is possible to get an advantage in roulette under the right circumstances. One is from biased wheels. Another method was explained by Thorp in Mathematics of Gambling. However, I believe that modern casino procedures have negated these opportunities.

Still, there may be other methods that we don�t know about. I will tell you this: the people who discover them are not going to give seminars for $197.

Here is "undisputed proof" that if there ever was anything to this system, it's already gone: What is to stop a casino from paying the $197 to get the secret and then eliminate this amazing secret bet? Do you suppose they're HAPPY to hand out checks for $11K, month after month after month? Why? Because Jerry Adams is a nice guy? Do you think they're LEGALLY REQUIRED to give away money?

This is a "Never Revealed System," yet it has "Undisputed Proof." How the @%#$! do you dispute something if you can't look at it!?

Of COURSE, there are people out there selling progression systems! There were people selling them 100 years ago, and there will be people selling them 100 years from now. There are literally hundreds available right now on the internet. Most are less than $197, a few are more.

I have never heard of a mail-order system that was worth its investment. Most are simple scams, progression or trending systems which do not work. Some are stuff photocopied out of much cheaper credible books. Some are ideas which used to work and don't now.
The universal constant is that none of them are worth the price tag.

One note for potential system-sellers (yes I know you are reading): duping marks with these systems doesn't work either. You need a lot of advertising expenditure to find enough marks to make it profitable, 99% just lose the price of a classified ad. The only way to do it is the Leonard Benson/E Clifton Davis model-spend a lot of cash on advertising, then target a small number of guillable and rich marks, and fleece them for every penny over a protracted period. This is incredibly complicated and difficult to do well: it is much easier just to learn advantage gambling and use your duplicitous skills to better effect taking money from casinos.

There are 20 ways a ball can land to make you lose. There are only 18 ways a ball can land to make you win (American wheel - another discussion which I'd like to know why they made this game even shittier with double green). This win loss ratio applies to any wager offered; there's no payout compensation for a win. That's all you got to know.

Thanks for all the responses. I agree with all the responses, but I still stand by the fact the Blackjack as Business higher system is still a mail order, according to my copy. And... counting started as a book/mail order system that actually did work, why did thorp and Mr. X give the system up to the world. I guess I'd still like to believe there is a covert secret group that has a technique or method to beat any game and they keep it secret for the very reason that if anyone could do it, the casinos would drop it. I know cheats have this ability and are adapting to the digital world of security systems and I applaud them. I'm just interested in the math behind this and destroying the casinos who suck money from the ploppies who are looking for a fun time.

You need to read Griffin, The Theory of Blackjack. It will tell you exactly the absolute limits on the advantage you could theoretically gain from using the best card counting techniques. Then you can compare the returns and complexities of the the counts described in modestly-priced books. Then you can decide if an expensive mail-order system could possibly be worth the added cost. (Hint--the answer is no.) Betting progressions do not work in blackjack, roulette, or any other game. Period. Read the link at the top of the main message board page, other materials on this site or any other reputable Web site about gambling, or any basic text on probability. There are other techniques, not involving counting or betting progressions, for gaining an edge at blackjack and a few other games. Those who use them don't like to discuss all of the details publicly, but you can get basic information on how most of them work, if not information adequate to be able to put them into practice, if you research Web sites and books, and read everything you can get your hands on. Please don't lump these practitioners with the cheaters. They're not cheaters, and they have a keen sense of honor.

There is legitimate investment in Blackjack. Any investment doesn't mean an easy jump to any figured salary, and any investment doesn�t mean it�s easy. Blackjack is no exception.

It was for the most part, academic achievement, in a novel time. Again, Blackjack is an investment plan; it's not an easy jump to any figured salary. And, don�t label Thorp with just anyone.

THE CASINOS ARE PLAYING THE ROLE OF BLACKJACK BUSINESS ON YOU.
WHAT THE HELL IS THEIR SECRET?
You learn how to play Blackjack, their advantage is gone. And like Arnold Synder said, if you can learn to type fluently, you can learn to play blackjack. I did it myself.

From that site's FAQ:

How much of a bankroll do I need to make a $1000/day?
You will need approximately $400 to make $1000/day. If you do not have $400 to use as capital, you certainly can use less and build your profits and bankroll at your own leisure.
With $160, you can easily make $300-$500...and do so within 1-2 hours.

And here we are with five and six figure bankrolls! What have we been thinking? LOL.
