A letter of complaint (long but very interesting).

(Note: This letter is originally addressed to various BCLC (British Columbia Lottery Corp.) officials who are situated in the casinos of Vancouver B.C., Canada; but, knowing that it's gonna be torn in pieces by the gov't man and eventually thrown in the recycle bin, I decided to post it here on bj21.com. I'll appreciate any compliments & replies from fellow players, BJ experts and experienced gaming attorneys alike for the things I did right, those I did wrong...
Anyway, I believe that the casino personnel and BCLC officials will find this message when they turn on their computer.)

Dear Sirs,

I am very upset by the Lottery's treatment on winning players in the casinos. I've seen the management in some of them barring Baccarat players because they are winning a few big hands; and, in other occasions, closing a dumping table.

The Blackjack tables, however, are even worse. Having been playing for a year now, I've been given unfair treatment, ex. 1.barred without reason 2.been asked rudely to show my photo ID(which I did not cooperate and eventually barred) 3.treated rudely by dealers & bosses alike, AND 4.nailed as a cheater.

I'M NOT A CHEATER!! IF THE LOTTERY BELIEVES THE GAME COULD BE BEATEN VIA SKILL, IT HAS THE RIGHT to DISCONTINUE THE GAME TO ALL ITS PATRONS OR DRASTICALLY ELIMINATE THE SKILL FACTORS, THUS MAKING THE GAME UNBEATABLE, AS IN ATLANTIC CITY. Ex. 1.restricting a winning player to a flat bet 2.installing 6D CSM's on all tables 3.prohibit mid-shoe entry 4.bad rules, AND 5.dealing 55% or less of the 6D shoe, or perhaps introduce 8 deckers.

As a counter, I am flustered when I saw 2 police officers walking on the main floor of a casino when I was playing one night earlier this month! What's the meaning of this? Threatening to get me arrested if I'm winning a few hundred dollars? IF USING ONE'S HEAD TO PLAY CASINO BLACKJACK IS CONSIDERED ILLEGAL AND WOULD LEAD TO SUSPICION, ARREST, TRIAL, AND EVEN CONVICTION, THEN, WHAT IS LEGAL?

James Grosjean, statistician and Blackjack player, wrote an article for Blackjack Forum Magazine(Vol.XXI, #1) about an adventure on beating Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas for high stakes(legally) and being arrested for the Easter Weekend in the year 2000, because his partner, Mike, was known as a card bender(cheater), although he's not cheating at that time. They've been barred, interrogated by cops, sent to the Clark County Detention Center, and jailed; but, after 4 days they are allowed to go free, and their charges on cheating are dropped by the District Attorney. Will this be my tragic fate if I am just a little better than other players on my table? Please let me know!

Anyway, how can these barbaric, somewhat illegal practices be stopped if I'm not planning to pursue legal action?

1.Pack your bags, find a nice and cheap apartment, give your landlord a one month's notice, and move out. I believe my daily life has be closely monitored by the police who are following me all over town and usually parking their car near my place.

2.The Internet Service on my computer had been terminated. My emails and phone conversations are probably being heard and seen by cops and casino folk, as I often hear strange noises and wierd messages when I'm communicating with others. THERE'S NO PRIVACY!! This message and the previous one are being typed and sent at a hidden place.

3.Don't let this put an end to your playing career! Hunt for greener pastures. You can even wear a disguise and play in these sweat joints in a year or two if the games are still attractive.

4.Talk to a criminal lawyer about your case (I definitely need to!). If possible, sue the casinos and cops.

5.Do not show your ID to those dudes or utter your real name in a casino.

6.Act in a low profile.

7.Minimize talk when you play.

8.Do not appear to know a lot about the game. (This is probably the start of all the trouble)

Floyd, you are of the type amongst a few others here, that will never be happy untill 100% csms are installed at every casino in the world.
This will give you an excuse not to cry anymore.

Those ones following me over town had an unfriendly and somewhat disgusting look on their face! One thing is clear:the casinos I play in are worried about a winning player who bets on red chips! Well, who cares about my reds while the dope next to me is betting stacks of quarters and losing them? If they don't let a few guys win, how do they get the bunch of losers motivated?

it's just a suggestion. Many casinos in the world have no CSM's installed on their tables. Don't forget that these shufflers are unbeatble by any count system, a bit too rough on casual players, and the high rollers just don't trust what's inside the machine.

I have the answer. If you wrap your entire apartment in aluminum foil it may stop them from monitoring you. I am sure your $10 hr ev has the entire casino industry in a turmoil so the only thing left is to go underground and never post here again as they may track your post and come for you. Also do not listen to the voices in your head I have told them repeatedly everyone is out to get you and they will only make you nervous even if they are correct. I hope to never hear from you again and then we will all know you are safe. Good luck!

If I owned a Casino, I wouldn't let you play in it. You have a bad attitude and an arrogant persona.

-Nonsense. Almost all cops have guns. I haven't yet seen a cop who was laughing out loud when they are sent to keep an eye on a suspect or cheater of some kind. As pointed out in Floyd's letter, he's not a cheater. It's obvious that the casinos are worried about Floyd's win on BJ so they sent the cops to track him, to scare him away from the tables.

-There has to be a few winners every night in casinos all over the globe! If the casinos sent bosses or even asked cops to follow them and check out what they're up to, it's a complete waste of time.

As a pure guess, you're a casino personnel who's job is to harrass Floyd. I'm still tryin' to figure out why Mr. D. Matthews is not busting your posts...

I'm not arrogant in any way. I'm having a good time with a couple of casino guys who are nice and polite. Also, I always start up decent conversations with other Blackjack players. If you're not there for fun and money, why do you gamble?
For those who don't like me...well...I do my best to ignore them, although they occasionlly call me bad names and spread rumours 'bout me.

What I'm feelin' is hate. If they don't want my action, simply read me the trespass act and ask me to hit the front door! Why are they doin' all sorts of harrassments? I've been barred by some dudes without giving me ANY reason. I've been told by a suit that the house is gonna lose their license if I don't show them my ID!!? As I won't be returnin' to these sweat joints in at least 12 months, there's no more nonsense from these devils anymore. I've heard enough, and I definitely need a break.

But I've decided to move to another place before Christmas. Sorry 'bout that. Right now, I can sleep at the place of my BJ buddies, or their cars if I feel my place is under surveillance...
Using aluminium foil to cover up my place would cost much of my Blackjack bankroll, and is therefore unnecessary. Sorry about that.

I wanted to clarify something: The guy I played with at Caesars had NEVER cheated--not in the Caesars game and not in any previous game. To say he is "known as a card bender" is misleading. He is LISTED IN THE GRIFFIN BOOK as a card bender, but that entry is libelous and Griffin is being sued over it. Griffin writes whatever it wants in the Book, regardless of truth.
