A few questions for the counters...

Okay, I finished reading EVERYTHING on this website and have actually read further on other sites. Now I have a few questions...now that I think you guys may be onto something...uh big.

Anyway, I have a few questions, basic ones, that I'd like your opinion on if I may have it:

1. If you're hanging out in Vegas, playing $10 or $25 dollar tables and get the "tap". You're asked to leave, you leave. Now what? Can you simply move on to another casino or is there a central monitoring system of some kind?

2. Do you have controls in place for the typical dorks who play like idiots? I assume that effects your counting negatively purely because they're doing stupid things.

3. How do card counters feel about dealers showing a 2. I feel like I lose 75% of the tine with a two showing. I hate twos.

It depends on a number of factors. If you proceed immediately to another casino in the same chain, you may get the tap there if they have entered the backoff in their data base and if you use the same name and players card. There are also casinos in Las Vegas that share information with one another in the Surveilance Information Network (SIN). Odds are that a player who got the tap at a $10 or $25 table would not be entered into the SIN, unless he were playing a huge spread with a relatively large max bet. In general terms, you're probably good to go as long as you play at another casino that is either independent or in a different chain.

2. Do you have controls in place for the typical dorks who play like idiots? I assume that effects your counting negatively purely because they're doing stupid things.

No. Although it can be frustrating at times when another player makes a bad play and you lose a hand as a result of it, the fact is that in overall terms, their plays have little or no effect on you. For every stupid play that causes you to lose a hand, there is another one that results in a win for you.

3. How do card counters feel about dealers showing a 2. I feel like I lose 75% of the tine with a two showing. I hate twos.

It's the old superstition, "twos are the dealer's ace." It really isn't true. A deuce is just another card, better than some, worse than others. I'd rather see a dealer two than a dealer ace or ten.

So, here's a question for you: Suppose, from now on, every hand you ever played in blackjack for the rest of your life faced a dealer's two as his upcard. Would that be something that would make you happy or unhappy?

For the people here, everyone would quit his job, take every dollar that he owned on the face of the earth, and play blackjack 'round the clock, till he owned all the money in the world, as our global advantage would be around 9%.

Now, what were you saying about twos?
