Agree with Don. There is only one correct BS in one situation.
However, you may adjust the BS depends on the current true count.
Or you may in a different rule, such as European No Hole Card rule,
So that you have to adjust the BS like:
Don't doubling down if 10/11 facing dealer's up card of 10 and Ace. etc.
By definition the BS-player doesn't pay attention to the count for strategy purposes (typically he doesn't even count).
But of course he has to pay attention to the rule set.
Your example with ENHC is good. In fact, when somebody splits the eights against a face card in Europe, there is a fair chance he is American :-).
