Which is better?

I know that all else being equal, a DD game is better than a 6-deck shoe game, but which of these two games are better?

6deck, H17, DOA, DAS, LS, >=75% pen (1 to 1.5 decks cut off), min bet $5 can spread 1-12 with no heat

OR

DD same rules, 60% pen, no midshoe entry $25 min bet can spread 1-4 no real heat.

My bankroll is about 7k. Thinking the DD game has too high a min. for my BR, and the spread on the 6-deck allows me to make about as much w/ less risk.

1:4 spread in double deck is very poor, so go with the 1:12 spread in 6 deck.

I assume these are at different casinos, where would they sweat so bad to only allow 1:4 in DD, but look the other way when you are laying down 1:12 in 6D?

Are you sure you can only spread 1:4? If I could spread 1:8 and they didn't care about sitting out the last few hands before the shuffle in the DD game, I would play it.

There is no possible way you can even close to the ev of DD when having a max bet of only $60 against the shoe. Your risk will be much less, but so will the expectation.

If so, I vote for the 2 deck game. If there is no surrender option on the 2 deck game, the 6 deck is clearly better.

Tell me what system you use and your desired risk of ruin and I can tell you the minimum BR where you would prefer the DD game. It's probably going to be a lot higher than $7k.

Given your parameters, my order of preference would be:
1. Wonging the 6 deck,
2. Play-all 6 Deck (EV falls off by more than 50% vs wonging, so this isn't even close)
3. Play-all 2 Deck (actually I would never do this since the lowest ROR I could come up with was 22.4%, so I would rather not play).

Now, if I could sit out some or all of the negative counts at DD (Wong-out), then I would put that as my number 2 option ahead of 6D play-all. Depending on your tolerance for risk, that may also be more preferable than wonging the 6D game.

I wong the 6 deck game a bit. The DD game has no mid-shoe entry, and they seem to watch it closer than the shoe games. I don't think it would be possible to wong a lot and not get noticed (since I'm there quite a bit). Its an Indian casino, and I just want to look like a stupid local. I'd be more comfortable wonging more if I didn't care as much about getting barred. Its the closest casino to where I live and the conditions are about the best locally ... especially since a couple of their dealers can't count and give me pushes when when I should have lost a couple times per night (or pay me when its really a push). The DD dealers seem to be more experienced.

I'm using Hi-Lo, and mostly using MBS on surrender choices, 15 & 16 vs dealer 9,10,A, plus MBS for double-downs. I can count well, and BS is well memorized, but I'm only slowly learing MBS. I don't see my BR being much higher than 12k for the next year or so. I usually bet $5 with tc <0, $10 at tc=>0 but <2, $25 at tc=2, $50 at tc=3, and $60 to $75 if tc>4 (rarely happens). I vary it up a bit to look supersticious (sp) (if tc is almost 2 I'll bet say $15, or if tc is close to 3 I'll bet $40 or $45.) If tc <= -2 I go take a long pee break.

I don't know what a reasonable ROR % might be. Suggestions would be appreciated.

Only you can really answer that. Main question to ask yourself: if you go bust, how long will it take you to raise another bank? If you can easily get it together in three months then I'd play to an aggressive ROR. Pro players usually have a bankroll at least the size of their annual income. That calls for a very, very conservative ROR.

Same rules, same pen, same limits, and within the same casino. Seeing as I make that choice quite often I would go with the 6D game.

That would tend to override the other questions. One, risk-free bet per hour can double your expectation and do even more for your win rate. Note, particulary, push mistakes are very valuable for a counter because they occur more often when you have a big bet out (the count is positive).
