I'm planning on visiting one of the two in mid-December. From where I live in Ohio, both are approximately the same distance. I would greatly appreciate any advice from those who are knowledgeable about both places. Thanks in advance.
1) Las Vegas
2) Reno
3) Tunica
4) Indiana/Chicago/St. Louis
5) Biloxi
6) Atlantic City
Yes, you can't be barred in Atlantic City. But they can short shoe you, flat bet you, and otherwise harras you. But then why should they? Since they can't bar players they just offer mostly crap games.
From Ohio, Vegas is probably cheaper than Tunica to get to also.
that's why I'm not considering Vegas. After having to drive 2200 miles back to Ohio from Reno because of the terrorist attacks (I was scheduled to depart Reno on 9/11), I'm not too keen on the idea of flying all the way out to Vegas, especially in winter. Besides, if all goes as planned, I'll be living in Reno or Carson City by the end of next year, so I'll have plenty of opportunities to visit Vegas then. Thanks anyway.
1) Better blackjack
2) Less crime
3) Shorter drive from Ohio.
Unlike some of the slightly sarcastic answers you got, I can say it's a pretty straight shoot from the Buckeye State to Tunica. Dont forget to drop in St. Charles MO for a quickie on the way.
Vegas is waaaay out of the way. Tunica is doable as an OH10 road trip, especially if you're not way up in Toledo ;-)
is that the best games exist where barrings are most prevalent. The
worst games exist where you can't be barred. For those of you who
think barring should be illegal in Nevada, note SOTSOG's order of
preference (with which I concur)... it's better to play the good
game and accept the risk than it is to waste your time on 6d and 8d
junk games in AC.
that in AC they cannot bar you...but they can do anything else...from cutting off half a deck...shuffle after every hand...betting restrictions...retroactive comp revolking...etc...etc...etc.
Tunica is much better....at least when you're toast they don't pussy-foot around.
