What to do when the boss is sweating your every move?

On my recent vegas trip I had a bunch of backoffs and noticed several came up in this situation.
In a single or double deck game after I bet my max a boss comes over to sweat the game at the start of a new shuffle.
He's watching the cards and my every move and when I raise my bets he comes over to the table and backs me off, or tells the dealer to shuffle. I was wondering what you guys do in this spot.
Play as normal?
leave the casino?
switch tables? he will usually follow me to the other table
flat bet one unit?
flat bet the table minimum?
bet small and play badly making mistakes and betting random amounts not with the count hoping to fool them?
lower the bet spread?
What I did was lower the bet spread but still got the backoffs.
I think next time I'll try flat betting till they go away. Problem is when I do that they never seem to go away.

You bet the table max and and expect them to ignore you? Are you kidding?

If you don't mind me saying, Jim, you sound like a heck of a blackjack player when it comes to winning but not so much when it comes to negotiating the casino in terms of being able to understand how pit personnel operate and how they may be perceiving you, your bets, and your play.

I am not one of the more experienced players on this webpage, but I feel very safe recommending Ian Andersen's "Burning the Tables on Las Vegas," which is actually a sequel to his other book "Turning the Tables on Las Vegas." He is a member of the Blackjack Hall of Fame, and is apparently known as "The Father of Blackjack Camouflage." Ian covers material such as relationships with dealers and pit personnel, safe deviations from basic strategy as a form of cover (which Dr. Wong apparently crunched numbers for), tipping, identification, comps, disguises, facial recognition, etc.

I have seen "Burning the Tables..." endorsed on this website as a featured book as I believe you can buy it through Pi Yee Press. I don't think you'll find many on this website who don't endorse Ian as an expert in how to survive and thrive in a casino environment en route to becoming a long-term player, not one who is 'only' great at counting but fizzles out due to a lack of casino savvy. thanks overkill, I read that book awhile back really good, seemed mainly good for blackchip players playing in a local casino. I've tried some of his advice. I think I'll try it again or check out his other book turning the tables in vegas is that one any good?

Leave. Don't make a scene and try not to be memorable. But leave. There are tons of other games in Vegas.

If you are in a local place with no other games nearby, then you might consider some of the other things you listed.

And you also need to lower your spread, in Vegas, at SD and DD games. This is an art as much as a science. You need to get a feel for the tolerance of each place. There is no place in Vegas that will tolerate a 16:1 spread at SD or DD. So either lower your spread or just play super short sessions.
