What's worse?

Surrendering 13 vs. dealer's 6 or staying on Ace-4 vs. dealer's 6?
Even other players at the table told A-4 to hit (nobody told him to double). When the same player wanted to stay on A-5 vs. 6,I guess everybody else at the table just gave up on him and didn't say a word, including the dealer.

Assuming a 6-deck, S17 game, surrendering, of course, loses 50%, while correctly standing on 13 v. 6 loses about 15.4%. So, the magnitude of the mistake is a loss of 34.6% worth of e.v.

Standing on A,4 v. 6 loses 14.7%, whereas correctly doubling wins 18.3%, so the mistake costs 33.0%.

Interestingly, the two egregious misplays are almost equal in their stupidity! :-)

I was playing at $10 and $15 tables for various reasons and I just couldn't believe how bad the players were. The dealer never said a word. But she was gorgeous and wearing lingerie, so I put up with it.

There are charts for the result (in terms of % of your bet won/lost) for EVERY possible hand vs. every possible dealer's card.
