Hi there,
I come across a casino running the following promotion: if one loses 1000 units or more for the day hell get 15% back as cash. So, what is the best strategy? I think the bigger the bets are the better itll be, because this means bigger fluctuations. It is clear that one bet of 1000 units is best for the day. If you win, you have won 1000 units; if you lose, youve lost 850 units only. But such a strategy is too obvious, and the casino people will soon realize that the player is playing for the cash back alone and is, as they say, trying to abuse the promotional offer. Maybe, if one makes a fixed number of bets (e.g. 77 hands of 100 units each) daily, he will look more like a gambler and there still will be enough advantage in his play. I took the above numbers, because with such an action and house edge of 0.5%, the net loss of 1000 units or more will happen about 16% of the time (1 sd and more). Of course, if the player reaches a net loss of 1000 units before completing his action, hell have to stop playing for the day to get the 150 units bonus. If after 77 hands of play one is somewhere between a loss of 750 and a loss of 1000, hell have to go on playing until gets out of this unprofitable zone.
This is how I see the things, but perhaps some seasoned AP will suggest something better.
