Updates to BJ21 message board software: This is still a work in progress

Please bear with us as we continue to adjust and improve our new format.  All comments and suggestions are welcome.  If you are a Green Chip member, please make comments in one of the threads on the General page or on the Admin page.  Thanks for your patience and understanding, as we work to update BJ21.

List of first things we will attempt to add/improve:

1. Put a box around the forum names (Green Chip forum, CBJN, and Free) on the "Boards" page so it is more obvious that it's a link.

2. Be sure spellchecker works in the body of posts.

3. See about a "Quote" feature for new posts.

4. See about a "Preview" feature for new posts.

In the list of threads the date and time of the last post would be nice to have. It only shows who posted now.

Once within a thread, a link to the first unread post would be useful.

All in all it's much better than it was - thanks!

Hi guys,

I'm one of the developers working on new website.

We are reading all your suggestions and working on improving the user experience. 

We have enabled spell checker and it should work now. If not, you probably have to clear cache and cookies.

For usernames you can add username you want to use but if that username already exists it won't be saved and you will see error message. In other words, your username must be unique. This also applies to editing usernames.

We will keep you updated regularly about new changes on website.

UPDATE

- Quoting was added (regular, multi and nested) along with some minor redirects so topics will go the last post created.

PS. If you are not seeing stylized text in your editor once you have clicked "Quote post", than you have to clear cashe and cookies in your browser.

Still having trouble recovering old account.

UPDATE:

- Preview option was added along with some minor bug fixes.

- Soon you will be informed how to get your old usernames back. Message will be in sticky post.

UPDATE:

- Page pagination was added on top of topic for easier navigation.

- If there are unread posts in topic, you will be redirected to the first unread post once you open topic. In other case, first page of topic will be opened.

- Time stamps are added in topics page.

- Edit/Delete/Quote buttons are replaced with icons.

Email notifications are now fixed.
When you follow certain topic you will receive only one notification no matter how many new posts are posted in that topic since your last visit to it.

I believe the following are all that's left to be fixed after the moist recent upgrade.   All other problems appear to be solved. If I missed anything, please post it.  Thank you.  (Cross-posted onto Green Chip)

1. Topic with the latest post within it does not jump to the top of the page as it should.

2. "New" tags are not working at all.

3. Topics do not open to the first unread post as they should.

4. Spellchecker is not working.

5. A live link does not paste into a new post.
