When last I wrote, I had been backed off from a casino in a certain four casino town in the Sout, after playing pretty aggressively.
So this weekend, I traveled to a five casino town about two hours West of the first town, and collected a cool $2,600 in about twelve hours of play. I was playing mostly at double deck tables with penetration to .8 decks and s17, ds. I spread my bets $25 to $250. I was trying to be more aware of heat this time, and popped back and fourth around the town's five casinos quite a bit. No one said anything to me, not even when I went to play the one deck game at one of the casinos (which happens to be the best one-deck game in the country, off the top). At this game I started with $50, since I had an edge off the top, and then dropped to $25 on even and negative counts and still spread to $250 with good counts. This way I got a 10:1 spread while looking more like a 5:1 spread.
Moral of the story - heat is a little bit overblown. It's not that easy to get backed off betting green chips. Nevertheless, after having played several weekends now in this town and most shifts at most casinos, it will be a while before I return.
