I'd like some comments realated on what to have on hand to play a $10 to $100 spread for a max of 3 hours on the felt. Would 1K suffice. Thanks for any comments in advance. Good Cards LWC.

What ROR are you happy with? If $1,000, then about 15%. If $2,000, then less than 1%. Maybe $1,500 would be a happy medium.

Bring a 5k pack, which is still a small amount to carry. You never know what opportunities will appear before you in a casino.

What you posted, made sense? I find it odd. 2K BR for 3hr. trip BR = 20 top bets at $10 to $100 spread. Seems logical to me. Maybe I'm wrong. I saw no disagreements, just added sugestions. ???

Wouldn't have thought the ROR is less than 1% with a $2,000 BR. Good news!
I was trying to say the average or standard trip bankroll is rated at 20 maximum bets.
And Don has been kind enough to tell us all why that's the case.

I think I once read here that a $5,000 BR would be required for a 5% ROR. 6 deck shoe game, $50.00 max bet. Glad to hear it's less than that.
The question SPECIFICALLY asks for the ROR for playing THREE hours! That's a very different number, requiring a much smaller bank, than determining the ROR, playing forever, for the same bank!

No. You'd need about $7,500 for that.

Page 182 of Blackjack Bluebook II shows a chart that says for 6 decks w/common rules, 4.25/6.0 pen, a 10-to-100 spread reaching the 100 max at +3 true and 4 hours of play, you need:
1100 for a 10% daily ROR
1400 for a 5% daily ROR
1700 for a 2% daily ROR
Figures were derived from John Auston's Blackjack Risk Manager, and assumes play with a "mid-range" system such as Hi/Lo, KO, Kiss III or Red 7. There are also charts for 25 hours and 300 hours.

Blackjack Blueprint is a different book written by Rick Blaine.
I wrote Blackjack Bluebook II as an expanded edition of the original (Blackjack Bluebook).
Bluebook II has had several print runs with each new print run containing small bits of extra info. Those ROR charts first appeared in the 2007 print run. The latest printing was in 2014, and that's what's currently being sold.
Note that the cover still states "2006 Edition" since the cover hasn't been changed since then. But the 2014 print run is what's out there now.
Sorry, forgot to answer your second question.
Bluebook II highlights the Kiss Count and the Mentor Count. But it also addresses other facets of play such has interacting with other players' hands thru their doubles and your splits, camouflage hand plays, playing 2 hands, etc.
Don't want to start sounding like a sales pitch.
