this board is quickly turning into a waste of time....

....for me, and I have no doubt many others feel the same way. Anyone interested in talking some blackjack instead of having a group bitch session?

Don't get me wrong please. I dont feel that this board has always been a waste of time. I have received much valuable information, with responses coming almost immediately. It is just that I feel the past few days there has been little to no blackjack discussion, which I think is a shame...

BJ 21 at one time was getting very popular and many subjects of interest were being exchanged by the experienced players. I can remember at times of over 250 post being exchanged and activity was increasing.

After Stan made his appearance on the DISC. in regards to card counting and technics we use to achieve positive results,I noticed a rapid decline of activity and participation here. It is possible that many of our friends found Stan's actions to be detrimental to the CC community in general. Ironically the DISC channel even promoted Stans website on TV, which you can see yielded no clue of positive results.

Some may feel we have been betrayed, however I hold nothing against good ol' Stan, for he has a business to run. Unfortunately he might have played the wrong cards.

I strongly believe (as a blackjack player and not as a profiteer) that large-scale publicity showing card counting as a legitimate and viable method of getting an edge over the casinos is the only hope that card counting has for survival.

Although CSMs have been taken out of some casinos, they will become more prevalent unless players reject them. Players won't reject them unless they are looking for games that they may be able to count ("may" meaning the games are countable, but most people will still fail).

I am convinced that it is beneficial for all of us, as a community of advantage players, for the general public to be educated. There are blackjack games all over the country now, and we want people asking for S17 games, no CSMs, fewer numbers of decks, etc. Also, if you're anything like me, it would be nice to mention card counting to someone without them asking me "isn't that illegal?"

Prior to Aug 31, BJ21.com received 2,200 visitors a day on average. After the show, we had 9,500 visitors in 3 hours. We had 6,500 visitors the next day. We continued to have a much higher number of visitors until September 11. After the tragedy, our numbers at BJ21 dropped somewhat and are now at a steady-state of about 2,200 visitors again.

We had a significant number of new Green Chippers in September and now have 1,185 members. On September 1, we had 1143 so we have had a net gain of 42 over the last 6 weeks which is pretty good.

I haven't posted much on the free pages lately, for a number of reasons. One of them is the fact that a lot of good posters answer newbie questions as well or better than I can and if they see it first and I can add nothing of substance to the answer, then I don't join in. The other is the fact that a lot of stuff on this page lately just hasn't been worth discussing to me. I will sometimes warn folks about someone like John Patrick, but getting into a long drawn-out thread discussing the merits of the meritless seems like a waste of time to me. Another reason I have been hesitant to answer some posts is that there are times when what looks like a relatively innocuous question is just a troll by someone looking to flame whoever answers the post. That gets tiresome.

However, I'm still here, and if I have something worth saying, I'll say it. :-)

you have a very active sex life. While things are a bit quiet on this board, would you care to enlighten us as to how you've managed to maintain your stamina for so many years? We won't share this info on other sites -- promise! Nothing dirty, though. We don't want this post to be busted.
