Blackjack Attack
I highly recommend you read that book next.
This book is different, and will help you assess the value of penetration, comparing games for winning potential, and learing which strategy variations are most important.
The books on Blackjack usually have a pattern to them. The most common type is to tout a system or two (Hi-Lo, KO, AOII, etc.), have some advice on devleoping an act, a caution about cheating casinos, and have a fair degree of storytelling. Beat the Dealer, Blackjack as a Business, Professional Blackjack, Blackjack for Blood fall into this group. All of these books, and the others listed in SpiderMans post, have something unique to add to your knowledge. But if you have selected a counting system, much of the material on their system is of little value to you.
Blackjack Attack does not focus on any one counting system, and the topics it covers apply to all counting systems. The material on penetration, back-counting shoe games, the Illustrious 18 and Catch 22, optimal betting, count system comparison and game assessments is not covered as well in any other book that I have read, and I have read all but a couple of the books listed in SpiderMans post.
Ian Anderson's book "Burning the Tables", is aimed primarily at the high-roller black chip player. There is some valuable advice in it too for the lower stakes player.
