there are basically 2 personal conflicts that a player faces:
1.) You are up and you think of overbetting (feelings of celebration, things are due for you, etc)
2.) You are down and you think of overbetting (need to get up, bored, desperate, etc)
PLUS,
All the hands and the time in the world for this to manifest...
The best blackjack player in the world has the best track record of making both points insignificant. The worst had succumbed to one or both. Remember, all the time in the world.
There is a third factor where you are truly stupid and live your life playing a losing game happily, but I doubt it if you're reading this.
So, minimize both points and you will be a winner. If you can't, quit, and try again when you can :).
Love always, I've been there.
