Strat was nice

There are still some good red chip games on the strip. Played at the Strat recently, found it had really nice playing conditions at the red chip level. Wasn't even that crowded, even tho it was a weekend night.

Sad to say the Mirage and Bellagio were strictly CSM's at the red chip level. They weren't that busy though; while across the street, at the Flamingo, the tables were packed. Hopefully, if the strip properties care about red chip action (and they should, because that's where the volume is) they will take note of this.

Actuallly Not....that pretty much explains how useless CSMs are.
If they were so great they would be at every high rolling table instead of the 5$ tables,eh?

Csms have certainly failed the test with flying colors.
Wont be long before they degrade to the $2 tables.

of the 20%(high rollers) started out playing as high rollers? If you want new business, you still need to offer good games to the low roller.

I thought I heard on Travel Channel that the low rollers make up for it with volume. Guess that's hardly authoritative :)

On the one hand you see the efforts some properties (eg, Caesar's) will go through to attract whales. But then you hear about others (was it Rio?) who decided to just bag efforts to get the high rollers altogether. Maybe it depends on the propery. PPE gets a huge hunk of its revenue from gaming and so the high rollers might really count for something there. MBG's strategy is to make its money off room rents and food, so maybe high rollers don't count as much there.

I'm interested in this issue, in part because I'm fixing to do an analysis of PPE for school, so any input is appreciated. Likewise I will post the stats as I come across them.

Be sure to include information about the recent 8 million dollar judgment against them for fraud against a high roller.

the analysis is about maintaining focus on business strategy. Seems to me that putting oneself into an adversarial relationship with one's primary source of revenue is poor strategy.
