Stake a BR?

Anyone know of an efficient way to get backers to stake a starting bankroll? Including ways of finding investors, explaining the proposition and the details involved, distribution of winnings and losses.

I'd like to begin playing at higher limits than my lone bankroll permits and I'm trying to accelerate the slow grind of table minimums. If I could add some funds to my existing bankroll, than I'd be able to make higher top-bets and risk only a fraction of BR.

All help is deeply appreciated.

None of your friends will trust or understand that card counting actually works and that it is not somehow a fraud or worse illegal. You will have a good chance of having a negative flux right off the bat and your "investors" will freak out as they want steady returns with low risk...and that ain't blackjack.

Big Player, I completely agree with you, what you said makes perfect sense... but... I was thinking of engaging a more experienced investor, someone who'd done it before and is familiar with the fluxes, both +/-.

Clearly there there must be people willing to invest in gambling bankrolls. I'm looking for ways to gather these peoples' attentions and ways to propose my intentions as profitable ways for them to make ROI.

Has this previously been done primarily thorough "word-of-mouth"?

You'll have to develop a track record of winning consistently over time or have an already developed relationship of some sort with the investor in question.

No investor in their right mind is going to just fork over money for you to play blackjack on without some history of similar investments with other players.

I agree once again, that having a previous relationship will allow for the investor's "peace of mind" as I'm sure s/he'd be worried about things such as theft, etc.

That's partly why I mentioned word-of-mouth. Perhaps, you may not directly know the investor, but you both may have someone you know in common... if your mutual contact would vouch for you, then this should relieve the fear/skepticism on the investor's part.

Also, assuming you find the investor, and s/he's willing to stake you, how should the agreement be drawn up and discussed? Profit/Loss, Make-up $$, draw against BR, %%%, Replenish funds if bust...

Anything in writing? Lawyer?

I was able to read your post prior to it being deleted, along with the reply that shortly followed.

Although it's been a few days since I read it, and can't refresh my memory, I believe it was a direct cut-n-paste from LV Craigslist - and your argument is that the poster sounded "shady" to say the least, and not someone that you'd invest $$ in, correct?

The guy was selling a system, he wasn't looking for funding for his own BR, in order to upgrade table minimums and top-bets, as I am, true?

But, then why wouldn't voucher make the investment?

It's been discussed before, so you may find some past posts about it. Try to find an AP who will play to a joint bank.

how could/would anyone guarantee anything? If the investor was experienced with investing in BJ bankroll and knowledgeable of the situation, house edge, along with both positive and negative fluxes, then s/he'd be prepared for the potential losses that do occur.

Guarantees are for inexperienced/wannabe investors that would put up scared money and sweat the player every step of the way.

The voucher I'm talking about would serve the only purpose as to confirm to the investor the integrity and reliability of the player. To attest that he's not a scam artist, or the like.

If anyone is looking for a guaranteed anything, they should just put their money in a low-interest savings account.

I deleted my posting after I realized this guy had similar postings for other games. My point is even if you have discovered the Holy Grail and the Key to the Universe of blackjack, a backer would be difficult to find due to all the scams out there.

I agree with earlier posters that your best bet would be to put together a group of people and play from a combined bankroll.

A warning..Years ago before I discovered the World of Wong, I also was a progression systems player at baccarat. I figured such a simple game, such a small house advantage to overcome. Many systems would work well for weeks and even months on end...Eventually, all blew up and the result was a losing situation. The losses, about where they should have been for the money played and time spent (wasted).

I don't count cards, but I win, and I win big.. Don't buy into the hype. Card counting only improves your odds by about 1% - its just not worth it.

Agreed 100% and to clarify, I haven't found anything new or any Holy Grail system -- just doing what the rest of us on these boards are doing.

It's a good point to find someone to play to a joint bank, however, I was looking to avoid teaming up with someone as I prefer to play alone yet am trying to benefit from the additional funds that team-play situations would consist of.

Then everyone can bet more with same risk, no need to even be in the same state let alone the same casino.

What if 100 different counters with a $10K bank each somehow pooled their money and played on the $1M? Theoretically it would work. The problem is $10K might not be enough for a session bankroll and team players would be running out of cash during + counts, thus lowering expectation. You would need a way to re-distribute funds on a daily basis.

I've thought about trying to find investors... I think it would have to be someone familiar with counting or someone with a ton of money who likes to gamble or play the stock market etc. The main obstacle seems to be the trust issue because now matter how you spin it you could always take the money and say you lost (scam).

Has anybody ever made a business plan for counting cards, one to show potential investors?

Would any seasoned pros be willing to invest in an under-capitalized counter? Perhaps they wish to retire or play less often and want to help poor me or you out of the kindness of their heart :)
