Single-deck vs. multi-deck
Is it true that deck means how many players play against dealer at the table?
No, it refers to how many decks of cards are used in the game.
I have seen that single deck has favorable advatage over multideck.
In most cases, true single deck games have a lower house advantage than most multiple deck games. However, such games as Super Fun 21 and single deck games where a blackjack pays 6:5 instead of the normal 3:2 have house advantages far greater than most multiple deck games with normal rules.
But then will comes question. Why u hell have to play 2 or 4 decks when u can play 1 deck with larger bet.
Several reasons. First, there aren't very many decent single deck games left to play. Second, casinos that have single deck games tend to watch them closely and look for counters at those games. Third, even where single deck games can be found, conditions are often not acceptable for smart players. The penetration may be bad, or there may be too many players at the table, which tends to lessen penetration in games that deal based on rounds per player. There are strategies that can overcome these problems, but most of them are not card counting strategies.
And when stranger comes to your table and wants to play, then leave!
Why? Actually, in most of the single deck games available in the U.S. today, you are better off with two hands in action than you are with one. Three hands is acceptable, but in most cases, four hands is too many.
