Running Count - 6 deck game

How often would you experts say the running count hits plus 5, 10, 15, 20 in a 6 deck game? I ask because I just began counting and must say I see very few good positive counts in multi deck games. Could someone please recommend good literature on running count statistics? Thanks.

increased edge for the casino. The truecount hovers around 0 much more than single or double deck...it's this lack ok true count volatility that makes the game a safer offering for casinos.

When a six deck game goes really plus (about 1 shoe in 4) it tends to last a while...so playing shoes you have long periods of boring neutral counts...1 shoe in 4 you have to go to the bathroom, and 1 shoe in 4 you're putting out big bets for 1/3 of a shoe.

For books on the subject, Blackbelt In Blackjack, which is available now in chain bookstores, will have that information as well. An Blackjack Attack, will have that information for a wide variety of games, decks--see Chapter 10 of that book. Both books should be cornerstones of your blackjack library...indeed, Blackbelt in Blackjack is perhaps the single best blackjack book available IMHO.

I just came back from a 4-day trip to vegas playing nothing but BJ (at least 8 hours a day). I hit a 25 true count (hi-lo) twice with about 2 decks left each time!

Ack I goofed. I meant 25 running count twice, with about two decks left => 12 true count.

8 hours of Blackjack, with say six shoes per hour, with 75% penetration...

312 cards per shoe times 75% - or 234 cards in play minimum, at 2.7 cards per hand times 5 positions played (4 players plus a dealer) or about 17 to 18 hands per shoe for each player.

17.5 times 6 shoes per hour times 8 hours a day times 4 days or about 3360 hands played for the weekend.

meanwhile, you had 2 out of 3360 hands, or .0006 out of 1.0
