Really? Concensus please

I'm a former long time GC'er that's been away from the game for a good while. After looking over a recent report (CBJN)of blackjack games and conditions in the Las Vegas area, I was surprised/shocked to see the reported lack of quantity of playable 6 deck games in town as compared to even 3-4 years ago. In specificifically the south strip area/casinos.

I was one that used to take the conditions stated in this report as a "baseline." As often times actual conditions would vary one way or another when one actually got on site.

Question/concensus for those of you from the Vegas area, or who are frequently in town: How are overall 6 deck conditions from $10 to $50 minimums? Is the town worth playing any longer, and are there any opportunities for "true" 6 deck blackjack at these levels/minimums?

Leads me to more travel and greater travel expenses to avoid the venue I feasted on as a kid. As most can see, the quantity/quality leaves much to be desired along w/traffic and reduced pen. Generally speaking,CBJN monthly reports are satisfactory. W/such reduced overall EV, and game choices, I choose not to use much camo, albeit an individual decision.

I think winning law suits from some of the greatest players that made it illegal to bar counters had more of a negative advantage for APs in AC than positive. Casinos just modified the rules, such as no more surrender, dealer hits S17, weaker pen, etc.

I'd much rather play cat & mouse yhan what we have today. I think the lawsuits were just ego drivin.

Places like Pennyslvania are still some what playable. But sure enough we now have sone lawyer on GC trying to get others to pettion Pa. in court. I can already see where thats headed.

Lawyer wins and playable stores go away. Need to let sleepy dogs lay.

What good is a store I can't get kicked out of if I can't even play there to begin with? Just food for thought, plus our profession to boot. LWC

Current conditions on the Las Vegas strip sort of blows that argument out of the water. Las Vegas is a toilet bowl compared to AC unless you can play $100 min and even then AC isn't too bad at that level.

I am so delighted I don't play in LV. My home game is DD, 75% pen and late surrender.

Player cannot be barred in missouri and I would say overall dd blackjack is better than in neighboring markets such as tunica, Illinois, oklahoma, and Iowa. You can find good pen dd, not worry about being told no more bj, and several places will let you play a reasonable time before countermeasures are taken. If you are willing to limit to something like a $25-150 spread you might last forever.

I think when I can travel again, I'm not heading Weat anymore, I'm heading to Missouri. I had no idea that LV is even worst than AC. I thought off the strip there was still playable games. Yet when BigPlayer speaks I tend to listen. Good Cards, LWC
