I won't argue that one COULD get a 1-10 two-deck spread in certain circumstances. To say that one can depend on getting that kind of spread whenever or wherever they play I believe is unrealistic, and that a lot of places will give you serious heat for it. It's like with penetration, one could possibly get 70% at times but you couldn't count on getting that every time. If you read p77 of Knock Out Blackjack, you will see the authors describe how a 1-5 spread in a hand held game will likely get you noticed. Are you telling me that Fuchs and Vancura are wrong? Of course, since this book became popular, it is that much harder to get a spread like that without being noticed, because of course now they are looking for KO players who are spreading 1-5.
And regardless of the spread, I don't know too many casinos who like giving their money away. They don't care about your spread as much as your end result... if you are winning a stack of chips they are going to notice and then wonder why. I notice a lot of casinos send someone every 15-30 minutes to count the chip rack. I'm sure they keep track of all the buy-ins too so when they see a table producing a loss they will investigate.
