Questions on going from Hi-Opt1 to Hi-Opt2 count

I have been using Hi-Opt1 count for many years now as a recreational player. I have recently decided to learn Hi-Opt2 count in order to increase my performance. I am looking for someone that has been using Hi-Opt2 that can help me out with betting. I have noticed that with the Hi-Opt2 count there are much larger extremes in the count compared to the Hi-Opt1. So I am wondering if I need to adjust my betting as we'll. I only play DD games and spread my bets in the following way with Hi-Opt1 count:
TC <1 bet 1 unit
TC +1 bet 2 units
TC +2 bet 3 units
TC >3 bet 4 units
Also since many of the DD games here do not allow mid deck entry, I will sit out once the count hits a TC of -4.
Should I be making any adjustments to this when using Hi-Opt2 count?

You need a minimum of 1-6, if not 1-8 for DD.

No, that ramp is too slow, and you don't get the top bet out quickly enough. All the bet ramps for the different games, rules, penm, etc. can be found in BJA3, chapter 10, or by using simulation software.

Depends on the rules. For some DD games with good rules, an increase at +1 is called for; for others, no.

are not tied to your bottom bet, they are tied to your bankroll size, desired risk of ruin, and your advantage. Your bottom bet might be $25 but your betting unit for +2 to +5 True might be $100 (Max of $400 at +5 in this example). That would make your spread 16-1 with a betting unit of $100 bucks. Your bottom bet is always just your bottom bet (in this case 1/4 of a betting unit).

is to bet 1 at -2 and lower, although you might bet 1 at 0 to +1 at times after losing. Betting 2 units at -1 to +1 which is essentially neutral and going to 4 at +2 and 8 at +4. Your spread basically looks like 1-4. Your cost is greater variance because of the higher bets off the top. Remember, a $50 bet off the top at .5% is only 25 cents. That's much cheaper cover than a $5 bet for the dealer. Hell you could make 5 $200 of the top bets for the cost of one tip, albeit with much greater variance. That's why a big bank is so important.

What would you bet at a TC of 3?

What about 1, 3, 5 and 8 units at TC's of 1, 2, 3 and 4 as I mentioned in my previous post?

Also on your bank. If you chip up then 6 units if you parlay either stick with 4 or go for 8. Remember +3 TC is only about a 1% edge.
By the way, this methodology that I suggested in my earlier post was suggested to me by a far more experienced Green Chipper, whose handle I forget, and one that I have adopted.

Some of you are missing the point! I learned from an expert, that there is NO chipping up. There is an exact bet progression based on, guess what, the exact true count at the moment that it's time to place a bet for the next hand(s).

I would avoid the term "progression" to describe a betting scheme but it's anyway not quite correct to bet strictly according to the TC.
The determining factor for your bet is your advantage.So depending on rule variations the same TC will call for different bets.
Also, deep in the shoe a TC of +1 is worth more than early on(floating advantage).

I don't care what you call it. Progression, ramp, bet schedule, betting scheme, bet spread ratio. Actually it is a bet correlation, betting with respect to the count is what it is. The count tells you how much to bet; The count determines your % advantage and therefore how much to bet. As far as I have learned from experts, a TC of one is a TC of one no matter where it occurs in the deck or shoe. I'll say that I could be incorrect on this final issue.

By chipping up or parlaying I was referring to how aggressive you want to escalate your bets in accordance with the count, and to do so in a manner that mimics how non-counters bet. I certainly wasn't advocating a progression system. With true Kelly betting you're right that the bet should match your edge times your bankroll divided by the variance (as Don S. recently corrected me) but that isn't always practical for a variety of reasons. With Qfit's CVCX you can do simulations that will give you precise betting ramps that optimize EV vs variance for virtually any game.

Also, the house edge with BS does diminish the deeper in the pack you go. In DS's "Blackjack Attack" there is a very good discussion on the "floating advantage."

I'll relent on that last point since Don's BA III says so.
