When they legalized card games at casinos in Oklahoma, they only made it legal to play tournaments. The antes are actually required by law in this state. They go to fund the prize pool for periodic Blackjack tournaments at the casinos and the hours you put in at the tables are how you get an entry into the tournament. The antes do not go into the same box as the house money. There are strict enforcement guidelines that these funds not be comingled. The antes are based on the amount you are betting, generally 50 cents for $5-$50, $1 for $51-$100, etc. I don't play BJ here although that is my game of choice because I don't know anyone good enough to overcome an additional 1%-10% against them.
In poker, the small blinds are taken from the pot and kept seperate from the rake for the same reason. I do play poker here.
