Hello, When playing KO and the count goes to +2 after the first hand is dealt, is that any different than the same +2 count say 1/2 way through the deck ? Also I noticed that if I bet two units at +2 and lose, I can bet 3 units on the next hand if the count stays the same and enhance my profits. I do this all the way up to five units if The count remains plus two or more. Seems to work very well. Thanks
Two comments. 1) K-O is an unbalanced count. That means that, as you go deeper into the deck, the same running count gives you less and less advantage. Stated another way, as you deal more deeply, you need an ever-increasing count to maintain the same advantage you once had.
2) NEVER draw any conclusions from your personal, short-term results. They have no statistical significance whatsoever, and you can't draw any valid conclusions from them. (For example, if I judged from my short-term results, I'd swear the dealer makes 21 on 9 hands out of every 10! But, we know it's really slightly less . . . isn't it??!! :-))

With an un-balanced count the estimated deck composition is unchanged at the pivot value (sum of counts for a full deck/shoe) for any depth of deck. For RC's less than the pivot the advantage gets less deeper into the deck but for RC's more than the pivot the advantage will get higher.
The pivot for single deck KO is 4. Halfway through the deck a +2 count will indicate normal composition, so you will be at a disadvantage.
If you want to estimate actual advantage or perform accurate strategy deviations, TC adjustments are necessary, but to simply detect deck favouribility, a properly adjusted un-balanced count is arguably better because there is no error due to deck estimation.
