a few suggestions
Gambler's Book Club, which is on 8th Street I believe, is good for books (new ones) you would want to buy. (Just look in the phone book yellow pages of the hotel you are staying at to get the precise address, or call them for directions). Also, you can buy a copy of this month's Current Blackjack News (CBJN) there, for $15. CBJN will give you game rules, and a general idea of penetration and table minimums and maximums for Blackjack games around town. However, it will not tell you crowd conditions (seat availability) and which days of week, hours of day you will find the minimums listed and when the crowds are lightest or heaviest.
You can also try the Gamblers General Store on Main Street, a few block west of the Gamblers Book Club. They have new books as well as gambling equipment.
I understand you can visit University of Las Vegas Nevada's library where there is an extensive collection of gambling books. I have never done so myself.
I believe you might also buy short term membership of the Las Vegas Advisor. They can load you up with coupons, including match play, that will more than offset the cost of the membership.
