Pivot Point

I have read a few BJ Books and none of them have mentioned the word's Pivot Point! Browsing the web, in an attempt to learn as much as possible about DD games, I ran across writings suggesting that your higher wagers occur at the pivot point and generally occur within the first three quarters of the shuffle! How do I calculate the pivot point for DD ? Do I just focus on my TC for betting, using a Bet Spread of 1 to 4, and consider the Pivot Point, if I know what it is ? Thank you for sharing.

The Pivot Point for the KO count is +4. It is where the Running Count equals the True Count. It is always +4 if you use the correct IRC (Initial Running Count). Many players use that point as where they begin firing maximum wagers. There is also a count called the "Key Count" this is the RC where the edge swings from the house to the player.

Thank you and others for replying to my Pivot Point question. You wrote about another count referenced as Key Count, is this a totally different count then RC, or TC ? If so, is it a count that I should be aware of for proper wagering? I appreciate all feedback.

The word "count" can refer to a counting system (hilo,K-O,Revere etc.) or it can mean a particular value in that system. These values can be expressed in the form of a running count (for unbalanced systems) or in true count (RC divided by number of remaining decks) for balanced systems.As bigplayer said,the key count is the point where the player starts to have the advantage and should raise his bets.
