Penetration
At the casinos I play at, there is a wide variation in penetration among dealers -- on a six-deck shoe dealers burn anywhere from a little more than 1 deck to 2-2-1/2 decks. My impression is that among male dealers, the better the dealer is (faster play), the fewer cards he burns. Female dealers, regardless of skill levels, tend to burn fewer cards than male counterparts.
Question -- do casinos set policies for how many decks are cut out of play?
