The Way I Started
Probably isn't much use now with single-deck not as available, but at a full (5 or 6 players) SD table I counted just the 10s that came out on the 1st hand. Since only 2 hands got dealt per deck, no counting needed for the 2nd hand. Bet $10 off the top, kept it at 10 for a count of 5 or 6, dropped to $5 7 or more, doubled to $20 4 or less. I'd love for somebody to sim this once for me to see if it really works mathematically.
Now I use KO, and it's fine and not a lot of work. A few indeces will get a good percentage of the play variations (I use 15, 16 vs 10, 2.3 vs 2 at pivot, insurance above key count). Instead of varying the IRC, I change the key & pivot counts and always start at 0 IRC, just easier for me personally. I spread 1-5 at SD, 1-6 at DD.
Check the link, and good luck.
