Need Advice/Opinion

I have been reading several different books on blackjack, and I need some opinions if this is good advice or not:

Look for trends at the table: Dealer hitting 3 through 6 on at least three hand out of five.

Betting: First bet 2 units, then if you win bet 1 unit (idea is that you usually lose the next hand after a win), the 2 units, then 3 units, etc. When you lose you go back to the first 2 unit bet. 2-1-2-3-4-5.

Or 2 units, win, 3 units, win, 4 units. 2-3-4-5

Seating: Always sit at 1st base.

Losing hands: 3 to 4 losing hands in a row leave the table

Looking for trends at table: This is just superstition. You are just witnessing a random run of cards that are favourable to the player, it can change at any moment.

Betting: Progressions cannot overcome the house edge. You will lose approximately the same amount over time as someone flat betting.

Seating: Another superstition.

Losing Hands: Leaving the table will not necessarily stop a losing streak. Unless you have an idea of the deck composition, you could well be walking away from a favourable deck.

Maybe you can list the books that you have been reading (hopefully not by jerry patterson, john patrick). Also, any book listed on this website is a good starting point.

Blackjacks Hidden Secrets: Win without counting. George Pappadolplous., John Patrick�s Advanced Blackjack, and another one I can�t remember.

Can you suggest any good books? I have to be honest, I am not going to card count when I play blackjack. I know it works, but I have been pretty successful without it. Last time I was in Vegas I won $900 off an initial buy in of $75. I returned $300 of that over the next few days, and have been pretty close to even the other two times I was in Vegas.

I have a trip planned to Vegas in September, and I am learning basic strategy for the first time. I am hoping that this will help with a $900 bankroll for three days.

First, any book on blackjack that claims you can win without counting is a joke. Your win is due to mostly to luck. I won $160 at a $5 table the first time I played, and my friend had to tell me how to play my hands by basic strategy. I also thought I could keep winning with just basic strategy, found out the hard way I was wrong. I suggest either Knock-out Blackjack, Professional Blackjack, and/or Blackjack Bluebook II. One month is enough time to learn perfect basic strategy and a count system such as KO or KISS (Bluebook). That little bit of effort to master a simple count like the above will pay dividends in the long run. Good luck!
ps. Was the other book by jerry patterson ? He is another one who promotes progressions and stop-loss techniques.

Anyone ever come acros "How to play blackjack for a living" by Rich Mann. Just curious to know your opnions* on it.

This also uses a Double and triple progresive betting system, which i never fully understood.
