Not all BJ teams used call-ins, BPs, signals, etc. Some were simply agglomerations of individuals who used a joint bank but played individually, on their own, while the team aggregated the results.
Therefore, the argument that a level-one count might somehow be acceptable for a team approach but not for an individual simply isn't valid.
It has been repeatedly demonstrated, by me and countless other blackjack researchers, that virtually any reputable point count is sufficient to get the money, and that many other non-technical aspects of counting, such as act and ability to increase longevity, are infinitely more important than the actual count one employs.
If James doesn't agree with that, he probably stands alone among the blackjack-author community.
