Congradulations on your success,
Here's my analysis...its probably worth
less than what you paid for it....
most folks leave the casinos with less than they come in with, and you are ahead $22,000!
Your strategy is very similar to the White Rabbit style that Don S. wrote about in Blackjack Attack, Chapter 13. Was that by design?
The White Rabbit strategy call for a player to enter a table only at the top of the shoe, and play as long as the True Count is above -1.
Your application is a little different than his, as his simulation spread 1-12 for an Atlantic City game with 6 out of 8 decks dealt. He simulation resulted in a win rate of 1.02% bet for every dollar bet. He also provided some other data elements in that chapter and other parts in the book that I used to get an idea about how much you bet during your 14 months, and how your results compare to his simulation.
Using a frequency of TC chart I figured your average bet was $28.50 per hand
Freqency Bet Average Bet
Percent Amount Weighted
True Count >
<-1 29.84% 0 0.00
-1 to 1 45.64% 25 11.41
1 11.67% 50 5.84
2 6.38% 75 4.79
3 2.92% 100 2.92
4 1.93% 100 1.93
5 0.80% 100 0.80
6 0.44% 100 0.44
7 0.19% 100 0.19
8 0.12% 100 0.12
9 0.04% 100 0.04
10 0.03% 100 0.03
100.00% 28.50
Also, from the simulation, Don S. thought you would play 75.7 hands per hour with that strategy if it took you 6 round (about 3 minutes) to get to another table when you leave one.
Thus, 1400 times 75.7 times 28.5 comes to $3,020,430 worth of bets during your playing time. And finally, your win rate would be .72%, ($22,000/$3,020,430)...
That your win rate would come out less than the simulations win rate of 1.05% is appropriate to me it seems. Your spread is less, you probably don't split tens as the simulation did, you are not error free, and you may well not have been able to get in 75 hands per hour due to crowd conditions. Further, I believe most professional players usually fall short of expectation by 20-35% for various reasons.
Your win rate is good, but as I am sure you realize, it could be better if you spread more...however, how much more you can spread you can get away with is a matter for more experienced players to comment upon.
Anyway, I applaud you for sticking with it for so long, as 1400 hours of play over 14 months is quite a bit of play packed into a short time...indeed, it is as if you played every day for 2 & 2/3's hours for that time.
One final question though. You do have any other source of income don't you? It seems to me that $22,000 over 14 months is not a lot to live on in the New York area.
