Yea sometimes this game is rough. One of the first BJ internet sites is up and running again. David Morse's Learn21.com has a great new forum that is just getting up and running again. I encourage everyone to go check it out. Also, let me know if there are any other good sites.

One can learn a lot from watching Morse in action. I'm not sure what it's worth but you can quickly learn what not to do in a casino and how to avoid wannabe AP's more interested in promoting themselves.
David Morse is a pioneer in the game of blackjack and anyone who says he does not know what he is doing is obviosly just an amateur without much knowledge of the game. Several techniques have been created by Morse and his book has great reviews by all other great blackjack players.

Would that be the cheating technique or one of a few other techniques he got from others and then reinvented the wheel? Things like ace sequencing and using memory tags were around before he wrote about them. Guess you believe Al Gore invented the internet too?

I don't know where you get your info or how you decide who's great, but I know several BJ players that many consider great players that will say otherwise.

Funny, I was just thinking the same about anyone that thinks Morse is a great AP. I've seen him in action personally and I know several long time very successful pros that know him personally, and we all agree he has very limited AP knowledge and skills. From watching his play and hearing his comments about it afterwards, it's obvious he has recently played games at negative EV, besides displaying very poor knowledge of finer points of the game and using very poor judgment in casinos. Just talk to him briefly in person and it comes out quickly, if you have a clue yourself that is.

A Spectator. You know several players that others consider great and you all agree he has limited skills. So. Since this is your first post here, unless you are a GC'er who has strayed over here by accident and someone is willing to vouch for you, I'll have to apply serious discount to your opinion.
David Morse is branded as a cheater. Maybe he got the shaft. Maybe he was greedy. Maybe he applied good knowledge poorly. But if the knowledge is sound, and as another friend of mine put it, you have the 'wisdom' to apply it, $395 is cheap at twice the price.
So, what do you do, who you gonna believe?
The casino's label all skilled and advantage players as cheaters. If you were to play with any skill you would probably realize that. Your facts are all wrong Morse is far from a cheater, rather he uses his mind and gains an edge... guess you wouldn't know much about that.

My posts are based only on what your compadre 'S' is posting .. why I don't know, because even that stuff does not exactly make him look good.

I've played with David a couple of times and have witnessed the casinos remove him. There is absolutely no cheating involved in the way he plays, like I said before he uses his mind and is great at it.

He wasn't labeled a cheater just by casinos. He was labelled a cheater and permanently banned by NJ gaming after collecting video from 9 different casinos and he was charged with felony crimes.
Skill is noticing a sloppy dealer exposing a card, positioning yourself to read it, being able to do so w/o bringing attention of the play to the pit, etc.
Cheating is inserting a cut card and twisting or pulling it back to deliberately force a peek where none originally existed. This is what he was banned for doing and is public info on the NJ commission website. Even if that wasn't cheating, it's stupid to do it several times on a single cut hunting for a good card, and then even having to pull the cut card back out yet again in order to place it a card or two further up to steer the seen card. Not very subtle or smart.
And why do you think he had to resort to this move? Because his skills at legit advantage play are marginal which could've otherwise given him as large or even larger edge than his cheat move. I could present a few specific examples on this too but you're obviously wearing blinders and I'm sure won't be convinced of the truth, so I'm done. You can have the last word trying to defend your friend.
If you must pay to learn how to count, then you probably should not attempt card counting.
There is free info all over the internet. One just needs to get off their ass and learn a count. Improvements come from reading the various BJ boards, actual play and through networking with other experienced players.
Forget DM's pay system; you don't need it.
