Hello, all, I'm a low-stakes East Coast guy who used to go to LV once or twice a year but hasn't gone for 3 years, but thinking of going back in a couple months. I could use a bit of a pep talk...or warning.
What's new, in the grand scheme of things?
Back in, oh, 2014 or so I enjoyed playing various places, mostly peripheral to DT and the Strip. I prefer the DD game; SD shuffles up too much and the 6D cards change composition too slowly to keep my interest. I usually sit at $10 to $25 min tables. I use a system a smidgen more fancy than Hi-Lo and often play rated. I like cheap but decent meals and hotel rooms. I don't like much else about Vegas e.g. strip clubs, pools, golf, drinking, or hiking. I've only been kinda/sorta backed off once in LV and had one full-fledged backoff in a distant state. I had the pleasure of meeting Al face-to-face about 7 years ago.
When I read the free board here now and then, I generally hear laments: comps are tighter, pit critters are more nervous, pen/rules are worse, might as well shift to craps, etc. I try to take that with a grain of salt, figuring bad news is more likely to lead to board posts than good news.
So....how has LV these last three years or so treated modest-stakes 21 players?
I always get a copy of CBJN before going; no need to spill any details from there. General trends are all I ask.
