Is there any advantage in playing ...

more than one hand? If a player is going head-to-head with the dealer and plays one hand then the player will receive (on average) the same amout of cards dealt(50%). If the player has 2 hands then the player gets twice as many cards as the dealer (66%) and if playing 3 hands then the amount of cards is three times what the dealer gets(75%). Does any of this make any difference? Does giving the dealer less hands to play per shoe help or harm the player?

You're maths is correct. Obviously if the hands have a long term positive expectation, ie a reputable count applied properly indicates this situation then you want as great a % of the cards as possible, (allowing for discretion), & you want as small a % of hands when the expectation is negative.

However: Time is also valuable, & one can adjust one's bets. Small bets on multiple hands are good to eat up cards in negative situations, if you can offset this loss with bigger bets in positive situations.

One word of advice though, you don't want too many hands at marginal counts as you risk

1. Losing opportunies for bigger bets when the count gets higher mid round, especially if it goes down again, by the end of the round.

2. Whilst initially over the odds at the start of the round, if your first hands contain 10's, the other hands may now be negative expectation.
