Greetings to all! New member here (who's not new to counting).
I use the KO Full Matrix and play a 6D, S17, DS, RSA game with a 1:12 spread. I've been grappling with whether it's a good idea to true count KO Full--or not.
There appears to be two schools of thoughts on this:
The first that says one of the flaws with KO it that it underestimates the advantage early in the shoe and overestimates the advantage late in the shoe--and that KO can be improved upon by true counting it. (Makes sense to me.)
The other that says counting the seven in KO improves playing efficiency, betting correlation and insurance correlation--and that more precise betting is possible with running counts in unbalanced systems--and therefore, you don't need to (or perhaps shouldn't) true count KO. (That makes sense to me, too.)
Also, if you do think it's a good idea to true count convert KO, I've been thinking about just remembering the 6D KO running count equivalents of TC +2 for betting decisions and the equivalents of TC -1.2 for Wong out points--and was wondering if I had all this right:
For 6D KO Full (with an IRC of 10, key count 26, and pivot 34):
1. I need to forget about the key count completely.
2. I need to replace the key count with the 6D running count equivalent number for a TC of +2: (decks remaining: 6D: 22, 5D: 24, 4D: 26, 3D: 28, 2D: 30, 1D: 32).
3. I need to not increase my bet till I've reached a TC of +2 (to compensate for KO being weak very early and very late in a 6D shoe).
4. I need to keep the pivot point unchanged: it remains static at a TC of +4 (a RC of 34 in my case with an IRC of 10).
5. I need to wong out at the running count equivalent number for a TC of -1.20 (decks remaining: 5D: 8, 4D: 13, 3D: 18, 2D: 23, 1D: 28).
6. Anything I missed?
Thanks very much in advance!
A.L.F.
