I was wondering if it was legal to use a buddys players card at the tables? It would help him get comps. Do the casinos allow it or would I get into trouble?
Worst case is both you and your friend are 86d from property, but you'd have to be pretty dumb about it to get caught.
Why is that? Please explain.
Many table-side computers now have pictures of the face associated with the player's card. That makes it easy to get caught.
The pictures at the tables is new to me. Guess it's a bad idea after all.
Upon pressing this button, the floor can view your driver's license or passport (whichever was used when signing up for a player's card, since casinos scan it).
However, not all casinos have a swivel touchscreen attached to each table; some have a central podium where they do all the ratings.
If you don't cash out more than the casino's verification limit, then you should be fine. Typically it's around $2,500. Most floors aren't too snoopy unless you're an attractive female.
Come up with a backup plan or excuse. If it's a friend's card, say you two must've gotten it mixed up. However, if you're backed off at that casino and they ask you for your info, things will end in a trespass.
Not against the law, but that doesn't mean some casino isn't going to get very angry at you, particularly Total Rewards properties.
case 1- pit boss looks up player card and your mug does not match face on id used to get player's card. (I was watching the pit boss looking at the screen one time and saw my friend's photo). I left pretty quick after that.
case 2- you give friends card and don't recognize any one and have not been there in few years. You think you are ok. Pit boss just comes off break and recognizes you and looks at player rating and says that is not Jim thats JPB. also happened to me.
I decided to stop using friends players cards. It helped me a few times and got some friends some freebies but just too easy to get caught and too much hassle if you do.
