Is average # of cards per hand in BJ 3.2 or 2.7?

Hello Friends,
I need to know the average number of cards per hand for all hands played, regardless of their outcome, in Blackjack. For some reason the number 3.2 keeps nagging at me, but I read in two different places the number 2.7, however both of these authors said for "standing" hands (whatever that means), so I am thinking they are talking about something else.

Does anyone know this?

...but can't conceive of any common rule set where 3.2 would be correct. Not that I've spent a lifetime musing on it you understand...

is probably because you forgot about the dealers hand when I gave you the average rounds of single deck. 22 cards divided by 7 in how you arrived at 3.2. Divide 22 by 8 to get the correct results. I wish you casino guys would get your own damn website for consultation and leave this one alone...that's suppose to be funny.

I'm not sure what you are talking about. I don't work for any casinos, I used to consult with a few when I had a consulting contract with one of the Native American tribes, I'm a computer consultant, not a gaming consultant.

I got the 2.7 and 3.2 numbers from various authors. I checked Griffen, he says 2.7. But, he says that for the dealer, I don't know if that is the average total for all hands played or not. So far I cannot find a definitive number for all hands played. And no, I'm not so stupid, even though I am a southerner, that I didn't know that the dealer gets a hand too during a round of blackjack.

Rules such as the surrenders and those restricting or increasing double down and splitting will have a negligible effect on the average number.
